They should have rushed down to the local food bank with a check! People that place animals over humans are many, and they are extremly messed up people.

I think it's really great that so many people came out to adopt the puppy mill dogs. But, wouldn't it be greater if they thought all the other thousands of animals who are already in a shelter we just as important? I womder how many dogs were put to sleep today waiting for a loving home too?

How come there isn't a line at the shelter every day to adopt the pets there?

Why are these animals different?

Just askin'.

So, why couldn't all these people "love" the dogs that were already there? Or the ones at Broward County Animal Control that died Monday, Tuesday, and will die today? Dogs that could have lived if People would simply not be enamored with "glory" reporting?

Shame on the Sun-Sentinal for publishing this crap, and not getting the real story, and about how it is all about the $$$$ and the poor egos that need boosting.

Most of the people lining up are from Michael Vicks' Dog Training School.
They need some appetizers for their pit bulls.

For those wondering why people are lining up for these dogs instead of the ones that are already there, the answer is simple. Even though they are from puppy mills, the new dogs are purebreds that can be sold for a much higher price than the adoption fee. I'd hate to think that's the motivation behind this sudden adoption craze, but it's hard to ignore that fact.

I wonder how many of these dogs will be resold at pet stores for pure bred retail price.

Humane Society should have pulled a switch a roo and put those dogs that have been in the shelter in with the pure breds.

Probably because dogs are better companions, and treat others better, than many people.

Animals can't help themselves. Humans on the other hand had many opportunities in life, and those who usually need it either didn't apply themselves, are extremely lazy, or just plain failed at life. Of course there are those that have displaced by disasters, and had something really unfortunate happen they could not recover from. Those are few and far inbetween.

Finally one piece of good news that brings a smile to our mornings. I was never a dog person after my separation a year ago, on my exe's b-day i bought myself a yorkie and since then I am able to understand why "these weird people" (I used to call them that) love these little creatjures so much.

The real problem is the pet store industry which empowers puppy mills like the one that neglected these animals in the first place. As conscious consumers, we should choose to adopt from a shelter rather than purchase from a store.

I AM A MOTHER OF THREE AND BELIEVE ME I AM FAR FROM BEING MESSED UP BUT AFTER MY DIVORCE GETTING A PUPPY FOR MYSELF AND MY KIDS WAS THE BEST THING I EVER DONE. I USED TO THINK LIKE YOU, MAYBE ONE DAY YOU WILL THINK LIKE ME

They were there because they knew they were getting potentially expensive designer dogs for nearly nothing. The shelter should have charged these morons a premium of $200 to adopt and put that money toward helping the older dogs that have been at the shelter for a while.
