Looks like I am going to have a hard time now. But I guess driving a bit out of my way to support Home Depot for not giving in to the fundamentalists that are determined to pervert patriotism into religion is worth it.

TO BAD THAT HOME DEPOT DOES NOT BELIEVE IN GOD & COUNTRY. ALSO TO BAD THAT THEY DON'T SUPPORT OUR TROOPS THAT KEEPS THIS COUNTRY FREE THAT THE OWNERS OF HOME DEPOT CAN HAVE THE STORES THAT THEY DO HAVE. I CALLED THE HOME OFFICE TODAY TO TALK TO THEM ABOUT THIS AND THEY ARE NOT VERY PLEASANT PEOPLE AT THE HOME OFFICE. EVERYONE THAT SHOPS AT HOME DEPOT SHOULD CALL THEM.

I'm sure the same people supported Abercrombie's decision to fire someone for expressing her religious beliefs will come out and support Home Depot in this thread.(http://www.topix.net/forum/source/columbus-di... )

Oh who am I kidding? Freedom of religion only applies to Christians.

I will not set foot at another Home Depot. This is a God-less place. They can keep their merchandise and sell it to Satan worshippers.

It is a American corporation - the only thing they worship is MONEY, and paying executives as much as they can possibly do.

That involves hiring clueless workers at low wage, and selling products only made in 3rd world slave labor factories.

I call Home Depot "China Depot".

"This associate chose to wear a button that expressed his religious beliefs. The issue is not whether or not we agree with the message on the button," Craig Fishel said. "That's not our place to say, which is exactly why we have a blanket policy, which is long-standing and well-communicated to our associates, that only company-provided pins and badges can be worn."

It would be interesting to hear from people who worked with him. If he was going around pushing his beliefs on coworkers, grating on them, that probably contributed. It's possible to live your faith and share it with others without shoving it down their throats. I'd like to hear the other side of the story.

Most money is green... Most money has the word GOD on it. I guess Home Depot should consider when they say the word GOD is not welcome in their store, they must not want money anylonger. I WILL NOT GIVE MY "GOD" MONEY TO HOME DEPOT!! He has a right to chose his religion, and if he chooses to wear a pin with the word GOD, so be it! Female Muslims are allowed to wear their head dress. Why is it exceptable for them, but not for Christians??? The double standards in this country are getting out of control.

You do realize that you give the rest of the normal Christians a bad name with your first grade grasp of logic, right?

This is just a case of some douche bag wanting some attention. This has more to do with this guy wanting his 15 minutes than it does about God.

Michael Masinter, a civil-rights and employment-law professor at NOVA Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, said any lawsuit over religious discrimination will be tough to win.

"Because it's a private business, not one that's owned and operated by the government, it doesn't have to operate under the free-speech provisions of the First Amendment," he said.

Just because this young man wanted to express his opinion doesn't mean the rest of us have to listen to it. Thank you Home Depot. And for the record, Muslim women should be required NOT to wear the head gear. When in Rome....

Where does this new brand of Christianity come rom, where people exhibit an attitude of entitlement and self-righteousness, not godliness? When did the word sacrifice, and setting example like the "silent One before his accusers"? Where do these new-fangled, "it's all about MY rights" Christians who have bombarded society with an image of Jesus I HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE?

Fundies slay me!

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Gemini

It's a busy day and you've got quite enough to do without having to cope with people clamoring for your attention and likely to go into a huff if they don't get it. Is this person feeling neglected because you're busily occupied elsewhere or are there other reasons for their demanding mood? Simply giving them a big hug could make all the difference to their behavior.
