NO, I think that alot of Homeowners are aggravated and highly upset with the economy and how they are losing what they work so very hard for. I can't say its right but look at how many hard working people are losing their homes right before their eyes and they can't do anything about it. Everything is going up and times are getting hard! SO DON'T JUDGE!

How about paying your bills? You bought the house and didn't pay so you deserve to be homeless. What is wrong with people in the country??? You think the bank should just let you keep the house for free? You lazy trash...get a job and pay your bills! The only blame to place on the banks if for loaning money to this kind of garbage to start with. This kind of lowlife belongs in an apartment or worse, in a wet cardboard box. I'm sure these jerks were bad neighbors long before foreclosres and I'm glad they lost their homes, now maybe their neighbors will finally have a nice neighborhood again.

Personally I don't agree with them vandalizing these homes, but I can understand the frustration that these people must feel. I know that there were many fraudulant mortgage brokers who mislead home buyers into adjustable rate morgages; knowing that the rates would increase dramatically once the term was over. We would not be in the crisis if lenders were more reasonable with their rates. Not to mention the fact that a great deal of the brokers found and used loopholes where income verifications, etc... were concerned. This led to a great number of people who would not normally qualify for a morgage to qualify under these rediculous terms. With the economy the way it is, you would think lenders would be more willing to adjust the rates and try to help people stay in their homes rather than robbing them to make a buck. They don't care about the people...! They are out to make money the same way that the people in the oil industry are screwing us at the pump. This is just another example of greed at its worst. It isn't affecting them so they don't care, but their are plenty of families with children who become homeless because of the rate increases. Something needs to be done on a federal level to stop this and to punish both the brokers and the lenders.

Well after reading your comment it is clear that you don't know what you're talking about. Yes maybe some of these people were what you call "low lifes", but most of them were just people who dreamed of buying a home and when prices went through the roof, lenders offered extremely low rates (0% in some cases), but they misled the buyers by saying they would be able to refinance their homes when the fixed rate became adjustable, but that wasn't the case. Unfortunately this has led to a crisis, especially in S. Florida because those low interest rates might have climbed up to 14%. Do the math ($300,000 at 0% and the $300,000 at 12-14%)it is rediculous. Lenders didn't really try to work with anyone besides maybe giving the a 3 month plan to pay or go into forclosure. These people have lost alot and although I don't agree with them vandalizing the home, I think it was an act of temporary insanity if anything. Your comments are just ignorant...!!!!

The problem in this country is that nobody wants to take responsibility for nothing. It's always somebody else's fault. I feel for those who lost their homes due to illness or loss of job, but most are people who simply bought what they could not afford.
With the lure of a low initial interest (even zero,at times) they bought $ 400,000 houses when they could have afforded maybe a $ 170,000 house. Then when the rates go up (and yes, rates go up when you buy an adjustable mortgage, that's why they are called ADJUSTABLE). they can't pay, blame the lender, the bank, society, the economy...everything and everybody but themselves.

There is a reason why I still live in a condo. It's a nice condo, but got it cheap years ago; I want a house, especially for my wife, but if I can't afford it, I don't buy it. How tough is that to understand for an adult?
This is the same mentality (but in worse) that brings people in debt with credit card company. Wants the $ 6,000 home theather? Use the card. Then they can't pay back and the credit card company is to blame.

Be responsible, know what you can afford, and stop being spoiled idiots who buy because they want it, without thinking if they can really afford it.

WASHINGTON, July 3, 2008 (Reuters)— U.S. employers cut workers for a sixth straight month in June for the longest such streak since 2002 and the country's vast service sector unexpectedly contracted, underscoring the economy's frailty.

U.S. employers cut workers from their payrolls for the sixth straight month in June for the longest losing employment streak since 2002, government data on Thursday showed.

Recessions and Depressions
Unemployment Rate
The Labor Department said on Thursday that 62,000 nonfarm jobs were shed last month, bringing the number of jobs lost this year to 438,000 as a housing market crash chilled growth.

The unemployment rate, which shot up sharply in May, held steady at 5.5 percent.

A separate report showed new applications for jobless benefits hurdling to 404,000 last week, a level associated with past recessions and that suggests the labor market continued to weaken.

A separate survey showed service companies such as airlines and restaurants that make up the bulk of the economy are being pinched by soaring costs and weakening demand, and have responded by slashing staff.

OR, they could learn to cut grass from the illegal TexMex
