West Palm Beach man charged with raping dancer at Dream Girls adult club

i agree no woman should be raped. if this is a rape i do feel very sorry for the woman and the man should be charged. i think what people meant to say was that she should not have gone to a strange man's house so late at night that is a very very bad area i think what they meant was a woman has to be careful and take precautions.

you clearly dont know what your talking about! first dreamgirls has never been raided! it needs to be raided but no it has not been raided yet!
second its not a black club at all! it does have a verity of people of all colors!
its does need to be shut down but lying about it is not going to make that happen!

i heard a similar story from a friend of mine who's a cop. i think they are going to raid it its in the planning or something its like half black and the rest hispanic and white. i dont think its been raided yet. its sounds like it should thru with folks getting beat up and raped and all the drugs and shiit dont sound like some place you wanna go. all them strip clubs in wp are going downhill fast in the recession folks dont have money to spend and nobody wants to get the shiit kicked out of them or raped or diseased or arrested for drugs or whatever. i think its the element that goes there lots of criminals and drugs equal big big trouble.

I have been following this blog for awhile. I think I may have come to some correct conclusions.

My Grandmother was a burlesque dancer in the late 1950's in Cleveland and New York. She is almost eighty years old but a character and so smart.

She described the difference of today and yesteryears. Back then the dancers were NOT touched or did they touch. They did a classy routine stopping short of nudity and it was good clean classy show. Management was very strict. She made good money and kept her dignity and morals.

It seems starting in the late 1960's to mid 70's everything changed. "lapdancing" became popular and "champange back rooms" it was just a sugar coated code for prostitution. Lapdancing is not cool its stimulated sex leading to real sex and I am surprised the dancers do it, some of these men can have some really raunchy disease's and the same with back room sex. This is prostitution anyway you look at it, and I realize some dancers do not take part in it but enough do to make men and some women respect them less and feel they are "paid sex workers" to do what they please.

No its not fair. Especially to the dancers who just dance and keep it above board and clean and dont go to back rooms or lap and fondle the guys.

This man probably thought he could have sex with her and lots of men feel this way, they feel its easier with a stripper than a street corner prostitute so they will not get arrested. Again I do not think this is fair it is just reality.

I read a book a few years ago where women in the 70's were being pimped out by their boyfriends in strip clubs to have sex, that is sad very sick that a man could do that to his girlfriend or wife.

If the clubs cleaned it up and go back to the way it use to be it would be better. Less arrests, disease's, drugs, sex for pay, rapes, etc......These clubs have a "anything goes" and its hurting women in every way, all women. Too bad its not like it was years ago, no one got hurt and everybody made money. The owners and managers do not care about the dancers health and lives as long as they make money for themselves, the hell with the help! Sorry this was so long. Exactly. Those people never saw themselves in that position and some do it for noble causes. I work at a strip club (as a WAITRESS) and seriously am contemplating dancing to ease the economy's effects. Rape is rape, it is wrong no matter who experiences it or does it. I agree that if she was originally there for sex and it was consensual she shouldn't abuse the system, but even if something did go wrong and she said no she still has a right to justice. You guys need to ease off a little and be more humane. Strippers are people too. Prostitutes CAN be raped, and not all of them are drug junkies who only care about designer clothes and pot. If you had children, no other parental figure and were laid off with no prospects in sight let's see what you do.
