I heard about this a few months ago - and haven't bought a hershey product since. I invite all patriots to join me in boycotting companies that move out of the country. It is really quite satisfying to know that you aren't sending money outside the U.S.

Anyone that buys anything made by Hershey's is nuts! Everything their bean counters have touched over the past 20 or so years has cost U.S. workers their jobs.

I can't remember the last time I bought anything made by Hersheys. You need to look closely at their packaging as they do not print on their labels where or what the country of origin is that made their product(s). The package is simply marked "Mfd. by The Hershey Company"; a really sneaky way of hiding the fact that more and more of their products are made overseas OR in Mexico.

Milton Hershey has probably rolled over that many times in his grave that the coffin is worn out! Send a message; boycott their products. There are other chocolate products out there that are still made in the U.S. and are as good as their crap.

If people knew the flow of money in so called "American Corporations" I think there would be a whole lot of boycotting going on. Even companies like Giant Foods who is whole is owned by a Scandinavian corporation, you buy there and you support the out of country company. People have little regard to what takes a minute to either investigate or think about.

It's the Wal-Mart mentality of the world and the people that are really getting shafted are the very countries that support the world in themselves. They actually sell Hershey's candy here in the Philippines but like you, I basically won't buy it anymore just to prove a point to myself (though I'm positive they could give a sh!t less)

Frank will be starved, and running around naked in about two months. He must not realize who owns what in the United States also.

Well said, but I don't recall any stories about e-coli contamination from Scandinavians taking dumps on our food during its processing.

Someone recently said that the FDA is not checking all the food grown or processed in America, much less the food from foreign sources. I guess they figure that they will know if anything is contaminated once people start getting sick and dying. The same source mentioned that one way to ensure that you are eating American products, was to buy stuff labled "organic".

Here is an old letter to the editor I found through GOOGLE, this is not old news,:

Hershey's, the great Mexican chocolate bar
—(April 10, 2007 4:05 PM)
Can you believe Hershey is moving thier plant to Mexico? I heard of companies moving south for cheaper labor ... but this is WAAAAY SOUTH!

The kids got some Hershey candy for Easter, and that will be the last time I ever buy ANY Hershey product! Milton Hershey was all about the employees. That is how Hersheypark got started. I wonder if they will open a Hersheypark in Mexico now. It is bad enough illegals are taking American jobs, but now GOOD American jobs are going to Mexico! It's a real slap in the face to the Hershey employees, and all Americans!

Please join me in boycotting and no longer purchasing anything from Hershey, and never go back to Hersheypark!

Frank - don't eat at Burger King, it's owned by the British. Don't drink Capt. Morgan, Smirnoff, Cuervo, Bailey's, etc.- all owned by the British.

Don't drink Bud or any other Anheuser-Busch products - it's no longer a US company.

Don't shop at Food Lion - they're Belgian owned.

And finally, don't watch television - no TVs are made in the US anymore.

It just hit me like a ton of bricks.

Almost all economists concede free trade is good for America and we know much of our business these days is derived from selling our products to other countries. Case in point is Caterpillar, recently in the news.

And yet, we are upset that Hershey's is moving to Mexico under NAFTA. Why?

Here's my revelation: There is a huge difference between buying products from another company made in another country and buying American goods from an American company that merely moved south for cheaper labor costs. In other words, free trade is not intended to move companies out of America, but to buy and sell products actually produced in another country by that country's industry. I wouldn't have a problem with that.

I get your point, but I don't recall any British companies trying to kill us with e-coli or some sort of poison.

Once again, we outsource jobs before they are created/replaced. YOU DO NOT NEED A HARVARD EDUCATION to know that if you move jobs, people don't get paid. No money, no pay mortgage, no buy things and on and on. Until we STOP unfair trade and outsourcing by the thousands, NO amount of money will work. If you feel after all these millions of jobs have been created you need to outsource a little, go for it. But, have a replacement before sending for about 8 years so we can catch up from the last 8 years of outsourcing with no replacement positions on top of all that we are loosing on a daily basis.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Cancer

If you thought yesterday was fraught with tension the temperature rises a few notches again today, as Mars turns retro in your house of finances and values. What's eating you? Maybe you're annoyed because your spare time is being eroded by duties that are weighing heavily on your shoulders. You might also be miffed by the flippant attitude of a certain person who you think should be taking life a lot more seriously. Calm down or you'll blow a gasket.
