We have lost a great writer, a great observer of life and one of the most down-to-earth great guys. I last spoke to him last spring at a Grandview blues bar...he loved to play that good old rock & roll. He was the definition of a good friend. This is so sad, Cancer robs us all. Our prayers are with his family tonight.

Deeply saddened to hear the news of Mike Harden's passing. I often was drawn into his articles because of his warmth, humor, and understanding about the average person's struggles and real life issues. Thank you, Mike, for sharing your gifts with the world.

A loss to the community, and to all who enjoyed his wit and honesty. Thanks, Mike for all the great stories that resonated with me and with many folks who grew up in the Bottoms, and never forgot the lessons learned. Our sympathies to his family, and thanks for sharing him with all of us.
Rest In Peace.

I am deeply saddened to read of the death of Mike Harden. Having read his work since he wrote for the Citizen-Journal, I've been impressed for many years by his wit, his understanding, and his compassion. Columbus has lost a fine man, and I send conolences to Mike's family and to all of those who loved and appreciated him.

Our thoughts & prayers are with Mike's family. We shared so much thru the column of heart warming stories that hit home with all of us. We shared life in "the bottoms". What a tribute to someone who touched the lives of so many. The feeling of loss for a true friend I never met.

First of condolences to the family. Secondly, condolences to central Ohio. We have lost a voice that gave us an entertaining - and sometimes unique - perspective on our community. Through Mike we met so many of our neighbors that we might never had known if not for Mike's work. A sad day for all of us. He willl be missed.

Such a sad day for Columbus -- we have lost part of our heart and soul. He was a home grown guy and a Columbus legend. So sorry for his family and the old guard journalists at the Dispatch. Cancer you dirty bastard -- one day we will figure you out. But you will never steal Mike Harden''s legacy.

Oh my heart aches over the loss of Mike Harden. I've followed his columns for years and laughed out loud and/or was touched deeply by his words many many many times. I have been in denial for many months. . .was hoping his cancer could be arrested and thrown in jail. Much sympathy to all of us who loved and/or deeply appreciated this man
