I'm willing to bet taking her to the hospital was a gross overreaction. But honestly, what the hell were they drinking? If it was liquor, this mother SHOULD be punished. Not under the Social Host law but under the "What did you think was going to happen when you let a 15 year old drink liquor, STUPID?"

I've been drinking for years and I'm a grown male. I still get into trouble drinking liquor. Its just too easy to drink too much and make a mistake. WINE AND BEER, JACKASS!

This was hardly an exaggeration. I know the girl and her family and she was lucky to have gotten to the hospital when she did. She's lucky to be alive. Another kid in West Babylon, who was only a year younger, died a couple of weeks ago after drinking vodka and passing out in the snow (New Year's Eve). This is not an "oops" situation. This was gross misconduct.

The house is known all over southwestern Suffolk County as a flop house and a 24/7 party, similar to a frat house. Everyone in the family has been arrested at one point or another. The one sister is the one that was involved in the stolen cell phone thing in Lindenhurst on Halloween 2 or 3 years ago where their friend got stabbed in the neck and died. The whole neighborhood wants the house condemned and the family out of there

The house is disgusting and looks like a pigsty. Instead of having parties maybe she should try cleaning it and not making all of Keith Lane look like a slum. This pig needs to move out of WI.
This was not over-reaction to Jimmycrackcorn, the 15 year old got alcohol poisining as per the cops and th hospital

That whole family is messed up, just lock them all up. They have another daughter who has been in and out of juvenile detention and a frequent subject of Suffolk County Probation since she was in middle school. I believe she was the one that was involved in the Lindenhurst stabbing, she is a real nutcase and has been so for as long as I have known her since elementary school.

I am shocked that it took the SCPD this long to figure out that we have a problem in that household. Their are numerous families in West Islip that live the same lifestyle and do nothing but spawn entire generations of dirtbags and thugs.

We used to live in the area and had first hand knowledge of the family. They've been a train wreck for years. Drugs, alcohol, children commiting vandalism, unfit parents, you name it. Nice to see that 15 years later, things haven't changed at all.

Let just say I'm a concerned parent that know of this house and come on now. How does she not know what is going on in her house. The woman is not a moron -shes just plain and simple a CPS case. Every day children die from neglect and parents that just don't care. Parents if your reading this and you care. Stop these unfit parents and give them what they have coming to them. We need to get back to the good old days when we had a sense of neighborhood. That means watching our children and our neighbors children too. JUSTICE IS SERVED YES!!!!

Nah, she will probably just get off with probation and maybe a month in jail and then it will be right back to the old ways.

Just wait and see.

Well maybe us caring parents need to meet her at the court with signs that say -save our children from trailor trash.
Have you seen the long island post in Sept,08. Read it. Its titled "save my child." Very powerful article. It has a story about the parents desperate to save their precious daughter from heroin. Its mothers like the one in West Islip that needs to read about the children that die from drinking, drugs and carelessness. Parents need to ban together and stop this sh-t from happening. I say give her the max. What do you say? I HAVE BEEN TO MANY FUNERALS OF YOUNG KIDS. ENOUGH.

Daily Horoscope for January 6

Sagittarius

There's work to be done. Even though it might seem overwhelming, there's a lot to be gained from doing Level One, or routine physical tasks. When your body is preoccupied and very little mental input is required, your mind is free to roam. Do one thing at a time, and you're assured of complete success in all your projects and undertakings today. Your health is not as good as it could be, at the moment. Consider a cleansing diet.
