Water conservation liked but idea of fines has many boiling mad

This plan is an abomination. We are supposed to let our gardens and lawns that we have spent hundreds of dollars to make the look good for our community just die. We are supposed to let our swimming pools to into mosquito breeding cesspools. All of this while our city/state waters the weeds on the sides of freeways even when it is raining with non-recycled water. We are to suffer while the city grants building permits to new housing projects in areas such as Universal city where, given the problems from its recent fire, barely have enough water for what is there already. We all need to speak out on this.

FINES aside THIS IS A DIRECT RESULT OF SOME STUPID FISH OR ALGAE THE SIZE OF A DIME THAT DOES NOTHING BENEFICIAL BEING LOCATED IN SOME TRIBUTARY UP NORTH SO THE DWP IS FORCED TO GET WATER ELSEWHERE AND THE COST AND SUPPLY OF DOING THAT IS MAKING LIFE HARD.

NOT WATERING YOUR CAR OR FILLING YOUR POOL IS A JOKE. THE REGULATIONS SAY YOU CAN'T WASH YOUR CAR IF THERE ISN'T A SHUT OFF NOZZLE ON YOUR HOSE SO PEOPLE DON'T JUST LET THE WATER RUN.

THANK YOU ENVIRONMENTALIST THAT MADE THE WATER SUPPLY SO TIGHT WE SHOULD SEEK TO REMOVE THE STUPID FISH INSTEAD OF CAUSING FINANCIAL RISK TO HOMEOWNERS AND BUSINESS OWNERS LOOK UP THE STORY HERE ON THE DAILY NEWS WEBSITE AND SEE FOR YOURSELF WHY DWP IS FORCED TO CUT SUPPLY BECAUSE IN FACT THERE SOURCES FOR WATER HAVE BEEN CUT.

AS WITH OIL ENVIRONMENTALIST MAKE LIFE DIFFICULT ON THE MASSES PROTECTING WEEDS AND FISH THAT SERVE NO PURPOUSE.

You live in a naturally arid environment. Your water supplies are maxxed out- the Colorado River is overallocated, the Delta is overallocated, the Owens River was overallocated.

What a Nazi tactics. With spies around. How about setting water prices with tiers like for electricity, with top rate reflecting true cost. Who wants a pool or water lawn more will pay more. It is crazy if someone uses very little water, but twice has the water running to the street to be fined. Put exstra price for excesive water use - no spies.

Gee now the Council can approve some morfe 300+ units for Ventura Blvd.(all in Encino no doubt) because of all the water we will be forced to save. We live right by the Pacific Ocean! Why the hell can't they build some damn desalination plants already, so we can finally end California's water problems once and for all??

Maybe if we were to be better at controlling our population like enforcing immigration laws, we would have better control of our resources. Conserving our resources by controlling how many people we have living here in California is NOT RACIST, but COMMON SENSE. That would apply to our Electricity usage and fuel too, but we NEED water to LIVE

What a socialist idea. Price low and water police spy on people that use too much. How about give every household water allowance for home usage(drinking, bathing, cooking) and some watering allowance, and above certain level set the market price for water that would balance supply and demand. Who uses more, have pool etc. will pay extra for it. No water police, no spies, no neighbor spying on neighbor. If enough people are willing to pay than there will be money to purchase more water or process it from the sea water. End of story. Like any other product. Put the right price on it and if there are willing buyers market will supply.

If folks would FOLLOW THE RULES by watering in the early morning, or at night, there would be no need for such strict enforcement...

Let's see...we can't drive anywhere because of the price of gas, we have to cut back on our grocery budget because the prices have gone up 20-30%, we can't use our a/c because the politicions have added so many fees to the DWP bill. So all we have left is to sit out side and enjoy our dried out gardens. I wonder how much they are going to fine us when our propery becomes an eye sore
