Those "crimes" occurred when he was 14 and 15 years old. Also, my brother never went to prison, he was in a juvenile detention center.(That could be the same thing to some people) This is another "lie" that was reported. I would be happy if a fair story was reported about him. But this story about him is flawed and not factual. He wasn't out robbing people, breaking into people's houses, or shooting people. He stole a freakin bike and candy, How in the hell does that make him a "thug"? We never even lived in the ghetto. We grew up in West Hartford.(That is no where near ghetto) Also, if that's the case, all 4 of my BLACK brothers would be on the street gang bangin' and I would be just another black woman on welfare with 10 kids. But, none of those things happened. I believe my dad tried his hardest to raise us on his own. I believe he did a good job. Like I said, I am a Justice of the Law major and I study stuff like this all the time and I never expected anyone in my family to ever be a victim of a crime like this. Dude, if I died and someone reported crap like this about me, I would come back from the dead and haunt them. Let the dead rest in peace.( I just want people to know the truth ) Note: Even my dad said that things he told Tina Brown were spinned around and twisted in this so-called news article. Umm, actually, stealing little kids' Halloween candy DOES make you a thug.

I'd just like to say first that anyone who is still basing their comments on things they have read in the hartford courant or any newspaper for that matter should not comment here because no newspaper is infallible and the types of comments many of you are making are more than just curious inquiries but instead self righteous judgments and accusations upon two dead people. Many people would say that the New York Times could be considered one of the most reliable news sources in the country if not the world and yet only a few years ago a writer was found to be fabricating stories, or evidence used in stories simply to help his career. I have no issue with the hartford police department, but they have shown no evidence to suggest that a robbery was attempted besides, the ski mask (which it should be noted was only found on Xion), and I know for a fact that i wore a ski mask when attempting to do my senior prank in high school which consisted of toilet papering my school and i certainly hope i dont deserve to be executed for that. In addition for all those people who are taking issue with other posters here on the basis of race, age, hometown, or spelling ability think for a minute about what you are discussing and dont sink to the level of children by making fun of someone else for something they cannot change or have not intended.

since i live in west hartford where both the victims lived and went to school with both of them, I can say for a fact that almost everyone who went to school with these kids or lives in our town knew who they were within 24 hours of the murders.(This strikes me as odd because it took so very long for the newspapers to report their names) I'm going to set this straight for all you oddly twisted people who have this strange fascination in the deaths of two teens with whom you most likely have no sort of connection to. I am telling you what actually happened and if you choose not to accept my version then so be it but, this is what you can take as a reliable source of information and not the sudden solution to the problem of two kids deaths which the HPD grabbed out of thin air. The victims names were Xion Davidson, 17, of 1165 New Britain Avenue in West Hartford, and Kent McLaurin, 19, of 153 Beacon St., Hartford. This was not some huge conspiracy or massive gangland war like some of you have proposed and they were not going to rob someone as the newspaper has reported so suddenly. In fact if what went on between the killers and victims leading up to the murders had taken place in most other towns, it would have ended with a few kids going home with bloody noses. Kent and Xion had been fighting with some kids in a nearby neighborhood for some time, but not in the sense of gangs, merely an unknown dispute between teenagers. The two victims went over to the neighborhood of the kids they had been fighting with in order to vandalize their cars or houses in some unknown way, and this is why they were wearing masks, not so that they could rob someone. Keep in mind for any of you thinking that they still deserved their fate because they were taking part in criminal activity, that many of you have probably toilet papered a house or egged someones car who you didnt like while you were in high school. It is certainly not respectable behavior, but it is not the kind of behavior that should end in deaths. Xion and Kent were caught in the act of vandalizing and were beaten up by the group of kids. Xion and Kent then fled from the neighborhood probably assuming that the worst was over and the other kids were satisfied with the beating. This is the part where an average if mischievous night turned deadly. For reasons unknown to myself and all you experts out there, the other kids did not feel satisfied with the beating and instead decided that a harsher punishment needed to be inflicted. Kent and Xion were pretty badly beaten and so were walking back home after they had split up in different directions. They were hunted down by kids whos sense of moral rightness was so far out of whack that they felt the need to execute these two youths for a simple prank. That is what happened and that is the truth and it does dishonor to Kent and Xions memories for you people to argue and bicker over their final moments like school children arguing about who is smarter. It seems to me that a large portion of you are adults and after reading the filth that some of you have written in your quest to further satisfy your ego, it is clear to me that age certainly does not grant wisdom, since I am 17 years old, the same age as Xion and i am making a more rational and cohesive argument than many of you.

I agree, Big Sis you're wasting your time here defending the life of your brother. Share your thoughts with the ones that will be at his funeral. As I stated in a previous post, you'll be here for months going back and forth with these clowns. BTW stop telling all your personal business about your brother & family, it just gives these jerks more ammo to trash you and your brother.

I agree about the part of the youngsters posting here. Many of the pro-Xion posters are kids grieving over the loss of a friend and we have MIDDLE-AGED "wealthy" folks taunting and replying with cruel comments, unbelieveable! The internet has allowed people to vent their hate/venom from the comfort of their family room.

I can't believe that people rather shut up then speak out to help out the two families. Damn you guys never heard of "If you see something, say something". I hope you guys up in Hartford, CT know what a snitch is. Because if you don't heres a definition... To be a snitch you have to have been included in the crime or wrong-doing and tell on the other to authority. Your not a snitch if you seen a crime and tell on the person even if you knew the person. It's simple!
I hope they find the damn stupid moron and give him life sentence!!! Much Love Xion Davidson RIP

It is indeed a tragedy when young people are lost, whether texting while driving; being wiped out by a drunken boater; drowning in an illegal swimming hole, or killed by their classmate. We seem as a society to let our kids slide by for such a long time, that when it is time for something to be done - the job is made that much more hard to rectify. "IF ONLY" is spoken now more than I care to recall. For the blatant racists whose task it is to say "HARTFORD"...(racist comment)(the Mayor)(racist comment)(the pits)(blacks, hispanics, etc.) and then offer absolutely nothing in the way of a resolution - STOP!!! DO SOMETHING POSITIVE FOR A CHANGE! Volunteer, mentor, tutor, vote - but don't continue to armchair quarterback. YOU are the problem when you feed the demons of ignorance, poverty and despair. I pray for an effectual change in the dynamics of our society - for a time when eyes will be opened and hearts and minds renewed with a sense of community, learning, caring and loving.

I continue to be interested in this tragedy. I have an open mind about it and have made repeat visits to the scene. I hope some of you will take some time to look at the related postings on my blog. http://blogs.courant.com/colin_mcenroe_to_wit... Those of you who actually have something to conribute might consider emailing me at rmag99@aol.com. I'd appreciate hearing from you, Ms. McLaurin. I don't think the story has been told correctly yet.

Hartford Cops are a Joke
AOL

What exactly then is the answer?
The cops just don't care enough to do their jobs (yeah I am talking about HPD- They have plenty of time to come on the internet and be insulted, but no time to catch any killers). The mayor hides in his office, refusing to see what is happening. All you hear is the broken recording (Hartford is Safe-crime is down).
The parents either don't know or don't care what's going on with their kids.
The gangs are apparently killing off all the kids that are "just starting to turn their life around", or better yet "are wonderful human beings".
Hartford gets MILLIONS in Grants, armies of volenteers, and more assistance programs then anyone can imagine. Yet it burns.
When do you throw in the towel and say enough already? Money can be put to better use?

EBB wrote: <quoted text>I said he caused his own death. No, a gunshot wound to the face caused his death. There is more to this story. You don't kill someone for robbery. You can kill someone for ARMED robbery if you can convince a jury that you believed that your life is in imminent danger, but neither boy was armed. If we could all kill people for robbery, there would be no more doctors or dentists or insurance companies left in this world!
