This book is fascinating because it is written exactly from the perspective of a grunt--a very bold and gutsy grunt-- as he slogged through a partial tour in Vietnam--until severely wounded. The perspective is the key. Factually right or wrong it is a stream of consciousness account of how he saw it happen. This is a very compelling and hard-hitting book and a captivating read.

I'm not a regular book reader, but this is one I found hard to put down. I've read other books from veterans but this one I found a good read and very interesting. I'm passing it on to my kids. Because I didn't send event describing letters home that could be saved, I will not be able to write a book about my experiences and document the dates and events the way the author did. I can't wait to hear what the kids think about it.

THANK YOU MR.MILLIKEN!!!

I am the daughter of one your battle buddies. I always felt such a story should be told... over the years my father didn't say much about "Nam" but when he did reminisce it was profound. Somtimes he'd get this far-off look in his eye and we knew he was there all over again. Some accounts were funny some were sad but overall I know it is the time my father became a man and learned many figurative lessons about survival while literally fighting for his own. He, you, other Vietnam soldiers went thru too much out there; all are heros and it feels good to have my dad honored and immortalized thru your novel like this. He is also honored to be apart of it. Thanks again!

Sincerely,

Cheryl Williams
