My Mother is 4'8" weighs 95 pounds 89 years old. I'd like to see the cop who tells her to get into a child's seat.

The problem is when parents are uneducated enough to keep their own children safe, and the gov't has to step in and take care of your children for you and punish the parents if you break their rules and laws. My biggest pet peeve is adults that dont act like adults.

I see why they are passing it but am against it. Do to the lack of common sense these days laws like that are passed. The same dumbass who is for this law will strap the booster seat in some Jap crap box like a Prius. I used to always laugh when the (baby on board) signs were around. Many times I would see that in some un-safe POS and think to myself if you really cared about your child you would protect them with some steel.
About as smart as the stupid yuppie riding his motorcycle with a helmet but in shorts and sneakers or sandles.

Atleast I can agree with one point you have posted. The common sense is a rare sense these days.. It is self evident in your post. The parents puts signs that "Baby on Board" to let others know to be careful. A Rude Dude might not comprehend it. But it is simple and parents are encouraged to do it. Also Just steel doesn't make cars safer.. It takes more than that.
Also there is a reason for helmet. Most people that I know of have their brains in their head, and they use it and it is needed for survival after a crash. I do understand that it is not necessarily a requirement for pinheads.

In the late 60's and early 70's my Dad would occasionally let me sit on his lap and 'drive'. It was AWESOME. My mom would occasionally run into our local family owned grocery and leave my brother and I in the car. Our ages ranged between 5/6 on up. One time when we were very young, we were playing in the front seat while she was in the store. I managed to slip the car into reverse or neutral and the car drifted into the street. Cars were blowing horns and we were scared. We got in trouble for messing around with the car and never did it again! Of course it was 'our fault'. Anyway, we have evolved and the world does change. I would never do the same with my children, or risk being in big trouble. Anyway, the booster is the appropriate thing to do. The seat belt accross the neck of a young child is not safe.
