Don't trust them....it's politics as usual....I've heard that certain party members get who are in trouble in their districts get a free pass when it comes to voting against the party. Makes them look good at a time when they need it.....Lord knows 2010 is going to be a stuggle for a lot of them....

Yes you are right. I just wasn't sure Dalhkemper was bright enough understand that, and simply opt to go along with the majority of left leaning house members. Her joining the blue dog democrats when she thought she had opposition already for next year gave me doubts. This was the first substantial vote since then.

I'll guarantee you this much, she was taking some calls against this from her constituency and she would have voted for it if the Dems didn't have the votes they needed to get it passed. You better start calling Casey and Specter now and express your outrage at any support they lend this in the Senate. If you thought manufacturing jobs were leaving this area before, you ain't seen nothing yet!

Calling Casey or Specter would be an absolute waste of time. Casey does what he's told. Always has. Ran on his daddy's name, is dumber than a box of rocks, and has to be told what to do on everything. Specter gets his rocks off by doing the exact opposite of what the people actually want and expect him to do. Always has. Had no loyalty to the democrats when he switched to the republican party, and had no loyalty to them, witness his voting record and decision to switch back to the democrats when republicans made it plain after the stimulus vote, that contained the AIG bonus money at the administration's request of Dodd, they no longer wanted him. What it tells you is the majority of Pennsylvania voters are idiots, just like the ones in Erie. Oh wait, I forgot Rendell, who got to be governor by winning only a handful of the states 67 counties. Take Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Erie out of the equation and we'd have a state. Maybe.

You wouldn't have a 'state', you'd have a 'box of rocks'. Make sense, wouldya?

A 'NO' vote was the right vote.

Here's the bill ---
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd...

I especially like the part (page 226 or so) about how if you want to sell your house the seller will be required to make sure the house meets certain "green" standards not all of which have been clearly defined in the bill.

Cost estimates range from $175 to $1800 per year for an average family of four.

Ya. Just the ticket to fix the real estate markets. We have morons in charge of our government who have taken a recession and turned it into a depression, by not knowing what they are doing. Biden finally admitted they misread unemployment factors. Stopped short of admitting their policies made it worse, but did acknowledge that unemployment already exceeds what they said the max would be if the stimulus wasn't passed. They didn't know what they were doing then, and as this example shows they don't know what they are doing now. Wait till the health care costs hit the economy. We are never going to recover from all the damage this group has done, and they are insisting on doing even more damage.

And I am tired of hearing about what Oh-Bam-Me inherited from Bush. What he got was an economy that was trashed by democrats control of congress. The economy was doing fine until they took over congress again. The president has only limited ability to control congressional spending. See what has happened under Oh-Bam-Me, who doesn't even try to control the spending.

The votes were added up in the back rooms. They had the votes to pass it this provided cover for voting no in districts it was unpopular. If she had to break a tie it would have been marching orders from the party.

well Nancy heard that we didn't like the way Kathy vote the last time..

Nancy told Kathy to vote no because she had already had enough vote to pass it with out her to make us think Kathy done right by us..

otherwise if Nancy didn't have enough vote Kathy would do what she was told to do and voted for it..
