The only Weatherford "sf" related story I've seen is that the college is keeping an eye on the situation, cleaning with stronger cleansers, etc.
"WC will work with local, regional and national public health authorities to follow proper guidelines. To date, no official cases have been reported on the WC campus." That's all I found tho. |

Thanks for the replies. I know there is at least one DSHS confirmed case in Johnson county, with many tests pending. It is amazing how fast it spread. The real test will be this fall - Sept, Oct, Nov - when it could come back strong like the 1918 pattern. It should die out this summer.

In church this morning, my daughters youth leader asked all to pray for GMS 8th grader, due to he has been diagnosed with swine flu...Why are the schools open and nothing being said about this? So many school districts are closed, what is Granbury doing about this? Is someone too proud to think the historic city could be immune? I do not feel it's safe sending my children to school when so many others are being closed and cleaned!

It is a tough decision for the school districts. They will be criticized if they close the schools and the virus goes away or if they do not close the schools and the virus spreads. It is a no-win situation.
According to the DSHS web site case count there has not been a case in Hood county, but the numbers have not been updated today yet. |

According to DSHS as of May 4th, no confirmed cases in Parker, Palo Pinto or Hood Counties. The official number of cases decreased today by 4 to total of 40 in Texas. The four were residents of Mexico. Ill try to paste the link:

61 Texas cases per DSHS as of today, none confirmed in Parker County. Rumors that there are several positive flu A tests pending CDC typing from PC. Springtown and Perrin Whitt closed schools.

Cameron County which is on the border. She was 2 weeks postpartum and had been hospitalized since 4/19. She had chronic underlying health problems. The first death was a boy from Mexico who went to a Houston hospital.
So far 90 confirmed Texas cases and none in Parker County. I think we are over this epidemic, but the virus still circulates in colder areas of the world. Confirmed cases will continue to rise because of the delay in lab confirmation. The real test will be this fall if it comes back stronger like it did in 1918. |

The Swine Flu is everywhere now. Most hospitals and offices are not even testing anymore because it is epidemic. Cooks ER has had 700+ patients per 24 hours many times and wait times have been 16 hours. The mass hysteria seems to be abating though, as the people are finally realizing the Swine Flu is a relatively mild flu virus. CDC is not even recommending antivirals for healthy patients with swine flu.
By the way, there are no "confirmed cases" of Swine flu. There is a rapid Flu A test that most are not doing but it does not tell you if it is Swine Flu, seasonal flu, or other flu. The state is not doing confirmatory Swine Flu tests now because it is already epidemic. |
