Man shot in McIntosh County after police chase

i would be curious to see the vehicle that was used as a deadly weapon? no weapons were found?

He didn't have to have a weapon. Why do people think an officer has to be shot at or see a weapon before they respond with deadly force? Graham v. Conner gives LEO's the right to act with deadly force based on the totality of circumstances, based on objective reasonableness. Look it up...

He is my nephew and it is hard to understand why this has happened to someone you love....I know he ran from the police officers and that he shouldn't have done it....but he is a family member and just because we think diffently about the situation doesn't mean he deserved to be shot at the way he was....JMHO

last i heard he was in a coma on a reathing machine and such... ive been wondern how he doin now so if one of yall thats his family could put it up here how hes doin i would very much apreciate it. he is in my prayers!!!!

is the suspect black or white? cops tend to shoot black men faster than they would a white man. JMO

I agree. However, we all know black men have this negative stereotype placed on them because of a few criminial outcast and police are more inclined to use deadly force more so with blacks than whites, sometimes justified and other times not so much...

Get Real and back on the subject that you responded to,,,, Every body can agree to disagree on the black and white thing that will never change. The truth to the matter is that the cops shot 17 times into this car,That was very uncalled for,, for the simple fact that they had 27 miles to throw down spike strips,,BUT DOD NOT, and also had 4 bridges they could have blocked,,,BUT DID NOT! and also had a 7 mile stretch of highway 17 where they could have pitted him and he had no place to go but in the marsh. And as far as tring to run over the cops look at the pic of his car, NOT dented up that much for hitting 3 cop cars????!!!! Come on now SOMETHING STINKS AND WE ALL KNOW IT, The boy was 100% wrong,YES, But he was NOT THE ONLY ONE.

you know I just don't agree because cops are just people too and the criminals are just taking over and it's frustrating. Cops are under so much pressure and are not being compensated for the dangerous job they do. Whether it's a petty criminal or a career criminal they need to be taught a lesson and other criminal need to take note. Kudos to the cops!

My thoughts exactlly!! I am not justifing what he done by running from the law but I was also wondering what other messures were taken to stop him.....Hummmm
and to answer the question about his condition in the hospital...he is doing better now. He was on a vent but is off now and was never in a coma....

Point Blank The Cops Screwed up and got stupid! They could have stopped him at anytime but decided not to. Bottom line spike strips,,Pitting within 7 miles stretch of highway, taizers,sand bag bullets, but No just shoot them, yes, I am angry about this NOTHERWORDS DON'T FOLLOW PROTOCAL JUST SHOOT!!!! By the way did you know that OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT LET THIS YOUNG BOY LAY ON THE GROUND BLEEDING for 20+ min. before they decidded to get him up and to the chopper???? NO! But thats a fact. YES, Our wonderful cops just stood there lauphing and joking about this youg boy bleeding to death,This is a fact also, They were seen. I must say not all the officers are bad,some are truly good guys.

AS everyone knows...there is always 2 sides to a story.To sad people seems to forget this.This young man was not right in running from the law but noone knows what you would do if it was happening to you.He has never been in any serious trouble before....He was scared and just trying to make it home.By the way the girfriend that called the cops because of a restraing order was with him most of the evening...THATS A FACT !!!Getting back to the shooting...they did not have to try to kill him,which they almost did.He did die in the ER and they brought him back,he lost all his blood...12pints of blood had to be replaced,4hours of surgery,back to surgery the next day,on life support and he still has a long recovery ahead of him and THATS A FACT !!!I know this because I was by his side day and night for 7 days.So, if any one really want to know the truth ask someone that knows.You can reply or email me at dreemnab@Yahoo.com

I agree with you and I have also see Brandon and let me say this if for some reason that was my son,,,,,,Well right or wrong he did not deserve getting shot by someone that was just scared of a young boy (THAT WAS UNARMED) and out of the car lets not forget,,,And was just to STUPID to act within the guidelines of the law and got trigger happy. Now keep in mind it was not just one of our FINNEST/HA HA HA, but several because there was 17+ shots that we know of. I hope that the cops that done this get whats comming to them AND I WILL PUSH IT TO THE VERY END. GOOD LUCK Brandon.
