Wisconsin Parents Face 25 Years in Prison When They're Sentenced in Daughter's Prayer Death

Full story: www.foxnews.com

A Wisconsin mother and father convicted of reckless homicide for praying instead of taking their dying daughter to a doctor could spend up to 25 years in prison. Dale and Leilani Neumann will be sentenced Tuesday in the death of 11-year-old Madeline Neumann, who died on their living room floor from undiagnosed diabetes as they prayed rather than getting her medical treatment.

What a choice ... pray to God ... or let a doctor PLAY GOD. A juvenile diabetic is TOTALLY dependent upon the medical profession for the rest of her life. Daily insulin injections. Careful monitoring of blood sugar and diet. The possibility of going into diabetic shock, going blind, losing limbs. A parent in this country should still have the right to accept the will of God, rather than be forced to follow the will of a doctor (who only "practices" medicine)

The will of God?

I could have easily been "changed" with modern day medicine.... It's not the "will of God" if there was a HUMAN decision to not do something or do something else: her parents decided to not take her to the people who had the cure.

That was a HUMAN decision. Not a "Godly" decision...

That was the "Will of the Parents" ....

The parents made a decision to not get her treatment.... Now they have to live with the results of that decision.

God would have supported them either way.

They didn't know she was a juvenile diabetic until she was at the hospital, from what I understand.

Parents being parents, and then get charged with the death of a child, and in the other case, for taking pictures of a child in a bathtub being a child.

Sad the way the government is attacking good parents.

This may have been a little excessive in the way of religion, however living in America we have that right. So you realize that if one does not choose to take drugs for pain-which are highly addictive most doctors choose to have nothing to do with you and insist one- you are not hurt that bad or two-you must be suffering from depression and they figure you need drugs anyway-this country and its people are so hooked on the doctors and drugs that health care will kill more than these few incidents to do with religion.

As a matter of fact "death by doctoring" is one of the top three causes of death in this country.

On the other hand of child care-we have a young Muslim woman who ran away from home in Ohio to Florida because her father said in no uncertain terms he will kill her, an honor killing. It seems though because Rifqa Bary is a minor she will most likely be sent back to her parents. No charges have been levied against these parents.

what is this country coming to? San Francisco-the same place where gays and lesbians are allowed to grope their lovers in public with no problem. Yes this is O'bama's America-isn't that Nancy Pelosi's district?

That's insane!

But here's the difference between this case and that one:

In this Prayer Death case the parents/defendants are the Crazed Bible Thumpers.

Whereas, in that Tubby Photo case the prosecutors are the Crazed Bible Thumpers.

What's the same is that in both cases the extremist religious nuts were the source of the evil.

Read the article again. And this time, please note that PEORIA ARIZONA is NOT in SAN FRANCISCO.

"It seems that A.J. and Lisa Demaree, of Peoria, Arizona, took photos of their three daughters, all under the age of five, naked in the bathtub. Yes, that's the brutal truth. I hate to hit you with it so tersely, but there it is.

Now, when the Demarees took the photo stick to Wal-Mart for developing, the employee was alarmed and called the cops. The cops viewed the photos and decided they constituted "child erotica" and "sex (sic) exploitation." In passing, I should mention the obvious - that anyone who believes that photos of naked five-year-olds in the bathtub constitute erotica has a lot more issues than the parent who took the pictures. He/she needs to get psychological help.

But that didn't stop the police and "child protective services." The Demarees had their children seized and placed in foster care for a month. The parents' names were placed on the state's sex offender registry. Lisa was suspended from her school job for a year. They spent $75,000 in attorney's fees to get their children back.

A.J. Demaree said, "Ninety-nine percent of the families in America have these exact same photos." He's right.

And Lisa Demaree said, "As crazy as it may seem, what you may think are the most beautiful innocent pictures of your children may be seen as something completely different and completely perverted." She's right too.

Combine those two true statements and here's what you get: According to police and "child welfare" authorities, 99% of American parents should be placed on sex offender registries, because they photograph their unclothed children.

The Demarees have their children back. They've filed suit against Wal-Mart and the State of Arizona. I hope they win big. It's the only way these zealots will learn the difference between a parent and a pervert."

Bullshit. One set of parents was unfairly attacked for innocuous photos.

The others let their child die when medical help could've easily saved her. How can you POSSIBLY defend this???

And why do I have the feeling that in the same breath you would lash out at the "murder of Terri Schiavo" and talk stupidly about "Obama's death panels".

There are some serious idiots in this country. You sound like one of them.

"Storm Troopers"??? Because they are mad these parents let this child die???

If the child was a fetus in the womb, would you still be defending the parents if they terminated it??

Well, being from Chicago certainly doesn't add credibility to your post.

In both cases, the parents did what they thought was right at the time.

Justice is not served by these people going to jail. Either one.

And I'm sure dehydrating someone to death is loving to you.

And since the government will control the medical workers, decisions will be made based upon government policy. Priority will go to the young.

"Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, President Obama's special adviser on health policy and brother of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, is the one who explained why it isn't discrimination to discriminate against older people in favor of the young when it comes to the government's distribution of health care dollars.

"Unlike allocation by sex or race, allocation by age is not invidious discrimination; every person lives through different life stages rather than being a single age. Even if 25-year-olds receive priority over 65-year-olds, everyone who is 65 years now was previously 25 years."

No, In America you DO NOT have the right to place a child's life in danger because you allowed a goofy religious belief to over-ride common sense parenting.

It a shame that the religious fear science so much. Should people pray instead of getting bypass surgery? Instead of ER's, maybe we should have ambulances ruch people to a church?

Seriosuly, Nobody has the right to endangger the life of someone in their care. THese people were clearly negligent, and shoudl be punished for their cruelty, regardless of the reason for it.

No one can accuse you of being a wallflower today! The modern cowboy or cowgirl has a tendency to shoot from the lip and you won't be afraid to tell it like it is. Your response will be quick, and your timing near perfect. If you don't accomplish what you set out to do this morning by the end of the day, it won't be for lack of trying. Getting an 'A' for effort is sometimes better than facing the test.
