“By banning iPods and other gadgets, we're teaching kids to actually become iPods— to become machines that store and spit out data. Instead, we should be teaching them to use iPods—to use that data and to be human beings who can think.”

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. If you want to use iPods with homework fine, but not in school. Of course kids can cheat with it, it's a device that I can download information on. It's no longer the bottle cap or on the sleeve, it's on the iPod and non-teachers don't understand that it distracts the classroom and enables cheating.

it is undeniable that ipod gives us something wonderful and useful. the key is the students yourselves. can your control yourselves from indulging in it? once you indulge in it, it turns to be harmful to your study and life

I'm doing a project for my school on allowing kids to use i-pods in schools. This article is a great push in allowing this to happen. Only downside, kids who don't own i-pods or MP3 players can't use them and could feel left out. Our schools don't have enough money to spend on i-pods. Fundraisers across America would help speed up the process of loaning i-pods. They could check out the i-pod for two weeks and if they don't return it or re-check it out in that period, a 10 cent fine is issued for every day, not counting weekends and holidays. When I finish my report I'm going to e-mail my report to my Superintendent and see what he thinks. Really hope we can push this to a school rule!

Come on, the last thing education needs is more gadgets to distract from what's really needed: parental involvement and better trained teachers.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Pisces

Although you're busy putting the finishing touches to your Christmas preparations, you'll also have to pay attention to someone who's feeling neglected or unloved. Luckily, it won't take much to make this person feel better, so a big hug or a little consideration might do the trick. You should also bear in mind that they may be feeling nostalgic or sad about the past.
