Can they come to the lights at Mammouth and Nashua Rd in Dracut? See tons of people blow by that bus stop every morning when a huge group of kids are getting on the bus. Happens daily! Hopefully none will ever get hurt!

Pass a school bus with it's top flashing lights on and stop sign out and the driver should be fined $5000.00 with a five year loss of license first offense.

Piece of crap drivers slow down!

Registry cops used to write tons of tickets. Too bad they are gone. Troopers not as visible.

I completely agree. I watched someone come up the left side of the bus while the kids were getting on this morning at the lights at Mammouth and Nashua in Dracut. It is really scary. Have called the school/bus company but nothing gets done. Hope none of my kids/neighbors kids get hurt.

Your right when we had the registry cops there where no tires sticking out, loud exhaust, cars with one head light. Never mind cars with different color lights.

I am all for fining those peeps who blow the bus's stop sign. However, I am all for kids congregating on a common block. I am sick of being behind a bus that stops on every block. The kids can see eachother as they wait - they are that close!! Kids are spoiled now-a-days. However, still does not give any driver the right to put anyone's lives in danger.

I do agree that people should not pass when the reds are flashing, but I've been stuck behind a bus more than once waiting for a kid to come out for close to 5 minutes! When I was a kid if you were outside waiting they'd leave and your parents had to get you to school. Also, I have gone down a one way street before and got stuck behind a bus driver that was just parking before starting their route. You can't block a street - I don't care what kind of vehicle it is. I had to get out and wake the guy up to get moving. Ridiculous.

I totally agree people need to stop for kids. safety is first.
But what they need to do is not stop at every other house. Drop kids off at a stop, not in front of house they live in, that gets very aggervating driving behind.

ugh! when i was in school i had to walk at least 10 minutes to get up to my bus stop on christian hill! i drive to work in chelmsford and the buses stop at every house! this drives me bananas and makes me want to pass the bus even though i know its not the kids fault..but come on, if you get stuck behind a route like this is gets very aggravating.

for those who know me know well how important I think stopping for busses is.

About reporting it, call the bus company and give them the info. When I drove a school bus we had a form to fill out.

Good! I was over by the YMCA last week getting on the Connector and watched some guy in a pickup in the opposite lane totally ignore the stop sign - it's my understanding that even if you're on a multi-lane road and a school bus stops on the other side, you're still required by law to stop.

Makes sense to me...these are kids after all.

I think bus drivers should be more fascist and report all minor violations to the police WHEN THEY HAPPEN.

I don't agree with the annual stings. They need to be out there every day. The state loves to blow money, why not on more police to protect the community?

ron, i agree only an a-hole ore a jerk would pass a school bus, but 5 years lose of license, sounds a bit stringent to me. id say 6 months, maybe a year, but 5 years? if a child were hurt because of it then sure.
