My whole point behind this is I work 40 hours a week and have since I was 18. Before I had my daughter I worked 2 jobs to get by. After she was born I babysat at night to make ends meet. I have always paid my own way without ANY kind of assistance. I worked, scratched & scrimped to make my life and my families life better. During those lean years, if there wasn't extra money in the budget, the candy bars, ice cream, etc. didn't get purchased! I drove some cars that were held together by duct tape and bubble gum because that's all I could afford. I just believe that if it's being given to them there should be more guidelines on the spending. The WIC program only allows certain items and the food stamp program should be the same way. Again...if the Obama government can tell me how I can spend money that I've earmarked (out of my earnings) for medical why can't they do the same for the monies that are just being given to the people in the program? My question to you is how can you not be upset by this?

I agree with you. Today someone just told me about a guy who is nearly homeless....he would be homeless if not for extended family and friends.....anyway he was complaining that he couldn't get by on $600 a month (for food) for himself and 3 little kids. I guess when you buy junk food and soda and you spend your extra cash on drugs and alcohol for yourself....(And, for the hard working folks who are having a hard time, I am NOT saying everyone is like this)

I dont bitch about things that are out of my control, there is no point to it. I try to live my life as stress free as possible and worry about me, not others in need and what our wack a$$ gov't decides what they can and can't do.

A farmers market would fit within the budget. Or grow your own garden. I do and I don't need the extra savings. My grandparents did need the extra savings and that's how I learned. Funny how we forgot to help ourselves?!?!

Martha Stewart wrote: <quoted text> Not sure who I'm quoting but "evil prevails when good men fail to act". that might work in movies, but not in this day and age. it doesnt cost that much to stress over is my point. if the gov't/state doesnt take it for that, they will find something else to take it for

I say we fix the problem by selective forced sterilization. If you eliminate the trash then it will not be a problem.
