So when will the "Shackle Shuffle" hit radio stations? This is one of the most informative articles yet. They even have their own courtroom!

Hey Kurt, an Iowan here. We didn't want them, we're glad they're going. If your righteous soul can't bear the thought of life without brown folks slicing your meat, you could always move to Central America. Just a thought.

It is a shame we can't throw a few politicians in there with them, shackles and all. The politicians could go back to their home countries and help straighten their countries out. This problem has been intentionally created by the politicians and they felt they could clean it up easily with amnesty. Unfortunately it was also an amnesty for politicians and businesses breaking the law. The politicians are still at the main objective, which is not for the illegals, it is for politicians and big business. It is called the SAVE act, because it saves the businesses and politicians. While once again promising to get though with the border, it allows businesses up to four years to verify their employees, WHY? Perhaps they have another new improved amnesty plan, temperary guest worker?

THANKS FOR YOUR COLUMN. IT FOUND IT COMPELLING AND HEART WRENCHING. I AM GLAD THAT YOU MENTIONED THAT THER WERE NO COMPANY PEOPLE THERE FACING ANY KIND OF LEGAL ACTION OR HUMILIATION. BUT FOR THE GRACE OF GOD I WAS BORN IN THIS COUNTRY. I AM OF HISPANIC ANCESTRY 9th or 10th GENERATION BUT I HAVE SEEN WITH MY OWN EYES THE MISTREATMENT OF THE LESS FORTUNATE FOR TOO LONG. I SPENT 20 YEARS WOKING IN THE EMPLOYMENT AGENCY BUSINESS I KNOW WHAT THE LAWS ARE. THOSE EMPLOYERS KNEW EXACTLY WHO THEY WERE HIRING AND THEIR STATUS MORE THEN LIKELY. BY THE WAY WHAT WAS THE BIG WAGE THAT THESE PEOPLE GETTING. DOES ANYONE WANT TO FIND OUT THEIR WAGES AND BENEFITS THEY WERE GETTING FOR THE RISKS THAT THEY WERE TAKING? EXCELLENT REPORTING.

If this country really and truly wanted to "fix" the immigration problem it would neuter the unlawful companies that hire them.
1st time your're caught with illegals it's 10,000.00.
Second time it's 100,000.00.
Third time it's your business license. Period.
Let's attack this from the top down.
Let's get tough with the benefactors.
When the jobs for illegals dries up they'll go south.

Indeed, breaking the law usually results in having to experience an unpleasant situation. Hence the reason laws are followed by people who like to stay out of jail. Now, it seems these fine, "hard working" folks who completely disregarded the immigration law of a foreign nation are a bit
upset because they are now reaping the fruits of their foolish behavior. Hmm? Oddly enough, few people who sneak into a foreign nation or their warm harted supporters understand why nations even have a need for such laws or what they were designed to do...You see, if twenty million people are illegally flooding into a labor force, seeking work in only the labor industries (construction, factory work, trucking, reastaurants, hotels, ect.ect.) this creates quite a bit of competiton (illegal competition.) for the the working class and legal immigrants that also like to pick up a paycheck on friday to suport their families. And an over saturation of workers in any one sector of employment more times than not results in the depression of wages (I'm a carpenter, by the way. trust me on this.) So, you see. although we are a nation of immigrants, we are also a nation of three hundred million people. Many rich, many middle class, and many poor...And the one thing we are all grateful for is the ability to find a job. And as a member of the hard working citizens and legal immigrants of our labor industries, I speak for tens of millions when I say,...I would like to keep it that way.

Oh, trust me on this one. Some of the SLIME management will be going to jail AND getting sued. SADLY, as too often seen, the CEOs and owners get away nearly untouched. In this case, they might also swing.

This company has a history of being dirtbags.

If you use e-verify it's very fast. By the way the pro-illegal groups are pressuring the government to shut down/not extend e-verify. We need to send another message to D.C. to extend it and make it mandatory that all employers are signed up and use it! I'm an employer and have no problem with e-verify at all!

Sounds good, but our state NE doesn't have general business licenses, unless you're an attorney, CPA, Healthcare, Realtor, etc. Our construction registry is only if you work in a city with a population over 100,000. Sadly there aren't many with over 100,000. I've never understood why. Have you read Missouri's new law? If we only had all states on-board, however, if we're lucky other governors may follow.

I think it is a very good article. Kurt captures the setting and makes you feel as though you are there. I feel as though there are two sides to the situation. I don't blame anyone for trying to better themselves for the good of themselves and their families. I believe they should come into this country legally. How they get here is the problem. Our government is not doing their job. Companies see these people as a cheap source of labor. I'm sure they are good workers or they would not keep them. I feel the company should be prosecuted for aiding these people to enter illegally. This is a very informative article that brings feeling and emotion to the situation.

Uh-huh and imagine what a country of billions working for much less does for us competition wise, yet nobody gave a s**t of this magnitude when that happened and continues to.

Illogical as f**k to say the least.

However, I am not talking about international trade. I am talking about domestic labor...Construction, restaurants, factorys, trucking, landscaping, hotels,...these are domestic jobs that have always been done by a domestic labor force. and with the current pressure for the U.S. to out source what labor can be, it is that much more important that we support our American and legal immigrants on American soil to do the jobs that remain here...In other words, The working class have it hard enough with out sourcing, They dont need the hassle of an endless illegal work force from a foreign Nation. Cheers!

And of course, the next time you buy a D.V.D player for $39.95 at Wall-Mart, remember why it's so cheap,...because China only pays the guy that put it together 25 cents an hour. So Again, Dig a little deeper in your pockets and kick out a couple more bucks to support our domestic workers. Call wall-Mart and tell em you would be happy to do so. Tell a contractor you are willing to pay a little more if it means a legal crew is building your home. The result will be, foreign Nations have to follow our lead and incrase their pay for labor aswell. Bringing everyone to (a some what) even keel, and making foreign trade "fair trade"

That was quite a tear-jerker. By the way, ICE agents / officers carry .40 cal sidearms...not 9mm. But that's why we love ya Kurt, your attention to detail.

If they have it so hard then tell them to put 25% of the effort shown for hate of illegals and they just might get NAFTA repealed. Not likely though, China has us beat on the chessboard. THAT is what we need to worry with. These guys basically own us because politicians can't curb their spending habits and we're running astronomical trade deficits, that is very, very wrong.
Can't very well say I want illegals out of MY country if it no longer is.
