I've never seen a highway project that has taken so long.
These unions and companies must be milking it for everything it's worth.
There have been much larger construction projects in New York and they have moved much faster.
Do you want to know why these projects take so long in CT?
CORRUPTION !!!

As it is now, I-84 East traffic goes from 4 lanes to 3 lanes to 2 lanes back to 3 lanes to 2 lanes......IT IS BACKED UP EVERY DAY!!! Make the damn road 3 lanes all the way through and DO NOT ALLOW TRUCKS IN THE LEFT HAND LANES!!!

They plan to widen I-84 from exit 25A to the three lane section in Waterbury starting in 2010, so the bottleneck will be relieved.
Now we have to widen from Waterbury to Danbury, although it won't be during my lifetime.

Connecticut's highway projects are the worst. Connecticut's highways are the worst. Connecticut's DOT is the worst.
Worst transportation system = worst quality of life.

Id like to be a road construction worker, I am very good at standing around and staring, with my 5 friends, at the one person who is picking up pebbles with a tweezers.

4 lanes

We need 4 lanes from the NY border to Exit 11. Then 3 lanes from there to Waterbury. 2 Lanes is just stupid, go to California, there there are 5 and 6 lane highways...
