Illegal cellphone use in Connecticut

I travel routes 91, 691, 84 and route 8 daily. I probably see at least 20 people daily talking on their cell phones while driving and holding their cell phones. Where are the police?? I wish the police would be more proactive with these people and ticket them, and the fine should be at least $300 not just a slap on the hand. These people are endangering every one's lives on our highway..

I have e-mailed Governor Rell about my concern many times. I would like to see more ads from the state of Connecticut reminding drivers that it IS illegal to use cell phones while driving without proper hands free devices. I feel because our lawmakers feel this is not a priority they are not properly enforcing it. Our lives are endanger..

I fear what might happen is that someone will be killed because of an illegal cell phone user and then our lawmakers will feel it's time to enforce our laws.
It doesn't take more police to enforce cellphone laws, all it takes is our lawmakers telling police to be more vigilant and enforce the laws..

This in conjunction with drivers going TOO fast is just bad news.

I think you can't find the police because they're to busy talking on their cell phones. I see it all the time when I visit my family in Waterbury. I drive by police officer after police officer that are talking on their cellphones and cutting people off on the street because they aren't even paying attention. You can't enforce a law that you yourself are breaking.

The law doesn't apply to cops. They are exempt.
