Let the town grown. It's time to move into the 21st century. It's bad enough restaurants can't serve alcohol to you.

Shapleigh is this little town of 2000, with barely no fire department or rescue, no police department and nothing for business. No "formula" restaurants would ever want to move to Shapleigh anyway.

ok Barb
Let the town "grown"...We've seen what the 21st century looks like with the beer bottles thrown onto the side of the road and the obnoxious people who don't know when they've had enough. You can keep it. We don't want it.

I would like to see Shapleigh retain the small town atmosphere that is so hard to find these days. A chain restaurant would spoil that for me.

We moved to Shapleigh nearly 20 years ago from a "small town" in Massachusetts. We moved here for the space, the small town school - who gave our children one on one attention when needed, the cleanliness, and the hometown values Shapleigh prides itself on.

If we wanted chain restaurants, alcohol, big business and all the people, traffic and problems that come with it - we would have moved to Sanford.

Shapleigh is working hard to keep a fine line between small town values and necessary growth.

I for one, like Shapleigh the way it is, and will vote everytime to keep it that way!

If you really need a drink with dinner, then drive 20 minutes into Springvale, Newfield, Waterboro or Sanford. If you can't do that, and drive home, then maybe you shouldn't be drinking to begin with! That's exactly the reason I don't want alcohol in Shapleigh. With the alcohol comes the need for a police force, road blocks, additional taxes etc....

If you don't like our "hometown values" and feel the need to "grow" then maybe Shapleigh isn't the place for you.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Aries

There are mixed messages flying around in the ether today, so be wary about drawing any concrete conclusions from what happens now. Even though you don't realize it, you may be misreading the signs that someone is sending out, which will lead to complications later on. Be especially careful about indulging in romantic daydreams and then believing them.
