East St Louis needs: Health care, child care elder care, Tracsh cleaned up, buyildings torn down, animal control, gun control, drug control--It does NOT need a 1+ mill monument; no matter who pays for it!! What about the homeless guy who liver there now--where is he going?

So typical of this town. The alderman are already WAY overpaid, East St. Louis has to fire some of the cops they had just hired, property taxes are in the stratoshere, and all these knuckleheads can do is build a monument?? What monumental stupidity!!

I agree with mccavity but you see that the people who expend the money for fountains don't live in East St. Louis and won't until it's gentrified. East St. Louis does need good cops and there are too many critics of East St. Louis who have never lived there and who don't know what it is like to have lived there

But, how about we have those companies that made all that money polluting East St. Louis, pay for the cleanup. Zero regulations on companies allow them to pollute wherever they want, thanks to good old Georgie writing the EPA report himself, along with the other lot of politicians who sold their soul to the corporation. Until corporations are held accountable for their actions, nothing will change, and right now corporations are loving the Republicans. This country is in a quagmire at home and abroad, sold to the highest bidder.
