Charisse: Wrong and right, not left, right

When it comes to politics, I'm consistent - consistently wrong. Just a couple of months ago I would have bet my bottom dollar that Barack Obama would go down to the worst defeat in presidential election history ...

"Even my trekkie friends were worried, recalling that were it not for actress Jeri Ryan - who played uber-hot cyborg Seven-of-Nine on "Star Trek: Voyager" - the guy might not be running for president today."

This sentence should be corrected to read "...recalling that were it not for allegations regarding prurient sexual behavior on his part made during Jack Ryan's 1999 divorce--which were revealed via court order during the campaign--the guy might not be running for president today."

I am sure that Ms. Ryan had no intentions regarding Barack Obama when she testified before the judge during her divorce in 1999, long before Jack Ryan's senatorial campaign. I grow weary of journalists, bloggers and pundits who see fit to blame her for Obama's meteoric rise to the Senate when she most likely didn't even know the man existed when she made her statements in court. Statements that she made to protect her own interests during a very difficult personal ordeal. Statements that she believed would remain sealed for the good of her young son.

Also, what about Jack Ryan's culpability? If the allegations that Ms. Ryan made regarding his peculiar predilections are true, shouldn't we hold him responsible for his actions? Or is that too much to ask of a politician?

Jeri Ryan "caused" Barack Obama's rise to stardom in the same way that Twinkies caused Dan White to murder Harvey Milk. Which is to say: not at all.

George Bush has disappointed me many times but, I would much rather have George Bush in charge than Barack Obama. Barack Hussein Obama actually. I wonder why his middle name is Hussein?

Maybe his middle name is Hussein because that is an extremely common name in Africa (from which his natural father came) and the Middle East -- which also included India, Indonesia, and other countries besides Iraq or Iran -- the same as certain names are common here. It has nothing whatsoever to do with his supposedly being something sinister. Maybe you place some kind of special significance on the hispanic same Jesus -- which if you don't know it, the "J" is pronounced as an "H". If you believe otherwise, as to Barack's middle name, well, I am not going to waste my time and "breathe" on someone so stupid that he/she cannot read and know the facts, not rhetoric -- especially someone who would prefer G. Duh-bya Bush who is destroying this country from the inside. We don't have to worry about outside terrorist; we have our own homegrown one living at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, who is decimating the middleclass.

Oh man, another uninformed idiot. Yeah, and he's also the antichrist. He also was sworn in on the Koran. Idiots believe anything they hear or read without searching for the truth.
