UPDATE Police to announce arrests in Meadows theft scheme

This article has been read 1019 times. Three Pittsburgh men were arrested Tuesday in connection with a sophisticated theft scheme in which they compromised a slot machine at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino to fraudulently claim $400,000 in winnings over a two month period.

Stealing ? Or just the knowledge to defeat the software program to win ?

Is that stealing or smart ? After all , the
casino sets the payouts. Is that not stealing ?

No. The casino sets the odds for payoffs in compliance with the regulations of the state gaming commission. Any fool knows that the odds in legalized gambling will always favor the house over time, and sufficiently so to cover losses, taxes, and the investment in the facility... and still provide a profit. Modification of the game is simply against the law. You're not too bright if you expect a "fair" game in a casino.
