Our small emergent church, The Chapel Door, has set aside two acres of our property for "The Lord's Acre." The steering committee in charge of making this faith garden produce fresh, organic food for hungry people is made up of about 12 people representing four community churches and numerous folks who do not attend church but who want to help. The produce will be distributed through our local food pantry, Food for Fairview (N.C.). If we have more than they can use, we will send it to Manna Food Bank in Asheville. It is a wonderful opportunity for our church to give to the community with no strings attached.
