Does not shock me at all, cops always think they are above the law. It just shows how they abuse their power! They will arrest someone for the same thing and then go out and do it themselves. They need to throw the book at him and make him an example!!!

You have to admit its been years since you've seen a montgomery county cop step on it this bad...where as in DC or PG county, just look at you watch its always that time for another blunder. You really said it yourself.

You really said it yourself. You sure about that? Just last year 10-12 Montgomerey officers got jammed up for that lil part time "double dipping" thing. And this wasnt a poke at the officer. Moreso a testament to those that just "wait" for news involving pg county or dc.

OK so they refuse to pay camera ticket fines stating that they are responding to a call, backing up another officer or whatever other reason they can think of. Now drunk driving? My hats off to the MCPD what a fine bunch of "Police Officers" you have there!

It seems that there are a few people who constantly attack the police when a cop gets in trouble. Cops are people, and sometimes do wrong just like the rest of us. Does that make police as a whole bad people or, in the eyes of some, "unnecessary". you are the same losers that hate the cops, and then comlain and whine when you are the victim of a crime and wonder where the cops are. What do you do for a living? Are all of the people in your line of work perfect? Oh wait, I can guess what happened......you got stopped by the police once and acted like an A** and got what you desereved and now you hate the police. Perhaps this officer needs a rehab program offered to him. Just because he was arrested does not mean that he is a "bad" person....maybe he has a substance issue, like many of you do.

You make a mistake as a cop if you are driving your civilian car while drinking. Driving your patrol car while drinking is just plain ignorant! You might get suspended for six months if you are in your car....but driving the counties patrol car is going to get this guy hammered!

The only problen I have is that when it happens to a cop the response is always "He is a good man that just made a mistake" but if I were to get a DUI I would be another stupid S.O.B. that was out there putting innocent lives at risk. Yes the police are held to a higher standard and rightly so as they voluntarally signed up to Protect and Serve. As to your comment about getting pulled over and acting like an ass...... Unless you know me don't make assumptions about me.

You are making alot of assumptions over there. You also seem to be pretty offended. How do you know I am not a cop? As I stated before, my issue is not with the officer, but that if "it" happened somewhere else, it would be 60 pages by now.

so wait, the rest of us get a dui and we don't get paid from our jobs, heck, usually you lose your job, but this officer gets PAY while investigation is ongoing? If he was drunk, he should get the same treatment as the rest of us!!!!!!!

The officer was definately in the wrong. That goes to show you no one is above the law, if he was driving under the influence he should be fired from the force.

Furthermore, tell me what job a "civilian" would not be immediately fired for a drunk driving accident in a "company car". Puhleeze........give me a break. We have one of Montgomery County's finest living next door and he is totally worthless. Breaks the speed limit on our little country road consistently, his dogs are left outside and bark day and night, and an illegal operation across the street was stopped by the neighborhood without him lifting a finger.

If he was drunk, he should get the same treatment as the rest of us!!!!!!! Well, it doesn't seem fair but if they suspended him without pay, there still has to be an investigation. If the investigation showed no wrong doing, then he could sue for loss of pay and then some. Better that he be paid, then fired, then chance it that he sues the county for thousands. This won't take long, it's not like he'll get months of pay.
