29-year-old Goldman Sachs vice president who has just been named the chief operating officer of the Securities and Exchange commission.

Storch graduated from SUNY Buffalo. During college he did a stint as a summer intern at Neuberger Berman and worked at Deloitte & Touche for two years after graduating. He then went to NYU's Stern School of Business. This lead to a job at Goldman, where he worked for the last five years.

As we noted earlier, this will surely lead to people complaining that A VAMPIRE SQUID IS RUNNING THE SEC.

Interestingly, Storch seems to be a big fan of Bill Clinton. At Stern, he created a website asking people to vote for Bill Clinton in the 2008 election. "Don't stand for the 22nd Ammendment!" the website implores.

UPDATE : I owe Adam Storch an apology for unfairly questioning whether he's really the most qualified person for the position of COO in SEC enforcement. Is it so very, very unexpected that policies designed by former Goldman CEO Hank Paulson, ultimate Wall Street servant Tim Geithner, and the banking-owned United States Congress would redound to the personal benefit of investment banking executives but not the general public?

The President is setting a great example to show how all parents should be involved in making sure that their children are learning and performing well in school. Children are the future of this nation people; let’s make sure that we are setting them up for success and preparing them to keep this nation great, especially once Nobel Peace Prize-recipient President Obama brings it back to the point of peace and prosperity.

One can only hope… the more awards he receives the more it shows that admiration for him continues to grow.

Private school for Obama's kids ($30K each) and it was a charter school in Illinois for them.

The Obamas can't have their kids in public schools...yeck.

But Obama takes away vouchers from parents in Washington, DC which has horrible schools and makes kids attend those bad public schools.

Only vote for candidates that want parental choice, school vouchers.

Republicans can reclaim public schools with a powerful platform that allows parents choice and revamps NCLB which is strangling schools with excess testing and holding entire school districts hostage until EVERY student makes gains.

Guess what...kids don't all learn at the same pace.
