Full story: El Paso Times

When I came to El Paso in 1948, as a private first class and a propeller specialist at Biggs Air Force Base, Downtown was the Downtown.

So true, Mr. Metz. We have beautiful mountains, great weather & golf courses, interesting Missions and history, wonderful people & wonderful food! If our mayor and others would spend money on improving what we have - and cleaning it up - we could make money through tourists to better things for all.

in trying to be like everyone else, the leaders of el paso have led the el paso into being a lot of... nothing

one would hope that its future leaders become nostalgic and reclaim the beauty el paso once had

Sir, you are completely right. I just wish many others in this city would see how special El Paso is being a border city. And not just complain about all its immigrants, whom by the way, helped build it. Thank you for this great article.

If only El Paso and Luna County could join forces to promote the rich history they share before Las Cruces, whose history is no where as rich, claims their patry history as the lion's share. Readers and potential visitors hoping to learn about El Paso and New Mexico get only a taste of El Paso's ancient past before moving up the Rio Grande corridor all the way to Taos. El Paso and New Mexico's bootheel are too often overlooked.

There's no reason El Paso shouldn't share in the celebration of New Mexico's Centennial of statehood.

Daily Horoscope for May 24

Leo

You have your head screwed on the right way when it comes to thinking about work and other important areas of your life. In fact, you're uncharacteristically practical and efficient. No one will be able to fool you. Ideally, you'll prefer your own company while you're doing all this because it will help you to concentrate more fully and not be distracted by what's happening around you.
