The lottery won't be affected. And that's 5 in the whole state, not just Columbus. There's Cincinnati and Cleveland.

Smart Move would have been to put this gem at City Center..... I guess a park will be so much better for the city ... Seriously???? Although, the Arena location will have direct access to the new rail that will bring people in to the city. I guess it is appropriate that City Center is being demolished as the true center of the city is now the Nationwide Arena district; most successful Columbus company, only Columbus pro sports team, only Columbus baseball franchise, proximity to Short North arts district, next door to best downtown housing and market. Nationwide and High has replaced Broad and High. Columbus needs to thank God for Nationwide. And needs to get rid of the clown mayor, the crap schools, and invest in law enforcement to rid the city and its government of trash
And we appreciate the voters who just made sure that all the real estate we have been stock-piling near the arena district gets sold for a premium price. Economic downturn my butt, can't wait to see my goal sharing checks the next 5 years. Thanks voters of Ohio!!

Hmmmm, that's a great idea for keeping OHIO $$ in OHIO, But.....BUT, remember one thing, we also have another issue out there that is gonna linger on everyones mind...especially the smokers who all go to these Casinos....When gaming in outside neighboring states, it's legal to smoke while you are in the Casinos, Such as THE BELTERA Located in RISING SUN, IN as well as HOLLYWOOD CASINO in LAWRENCEBURG, IN and My personal Favorite "WHEELING ISLAND"
My comment is, what is that going to do to our Hollywood of Columbus??
I mean put a drop on the city wide BAN on cigg smoking,
cause that may be an issue in the coming months to area gamers.
pretty much all the Casinos have even amount of machines to blow all your hard made income in non smoking sections, but if you have been to the casinos as much as I have within the past 6-9 months, you will notice one thing, the smoking gambler out weighs the non smokers,
But it can go either way!!!

wow the casino looks awful. I can't believe someone said it would be `must see` on the strip... lol, sure -
So 2 problems now -
1) Awful name
2) Awful design
Pitiful. If they aren't going to change the name, at least make it look nice. Columbus got a chain casino (look at the owners website, half their casinos are called "Hollywood Casino")... boo!

Who cares about the name or design? Just bring ON the slot machines already. Start building, start building, start building!

I heard there will be a special room right at the entrance for those of us that don't have time to play the machines. You can go in and give them $50 and they'll give you the jelly finger and you can be on your way. It's a nice time saving option.

Homer - did you just come down from the hills? Coleman with all his faults have nothing to do with arresting his own kind.(what do that mean any how). Learn how to speak Homer.

Net, I posted this on another thread. It applies to losers like you. Please read:

You people cry and complain that casinos win 100% of the time. It's simply not true. Just more scare tactics and unproven hype from sore losers. I guess I see why you think you'd lose everything if you walked into a casino, you have a loser mentality. They house has a slightly higher than 50% edge on most games. If you're a smart player, you're able to tip the odds in your favor.

If you're too dumb that you stand no chance of winning in a casino, then it's not for you. Educate yourself about math, probability, the ability to read people's body language and the specific skills required to play a certain casino game and maybe you'll have a chance at winning. Good luck loser!!

@Jonathan S.--I think Net Guru's comment was intended to be a humorous poke at the casino. Your response is an example of an 'ad hominem fallacy'. You may win at the casino, but you lose when it comes to sense-of-humor.
The house always wins in the long run. You may be one of the talented gamblers now, but let us know what happens at the casino after a few more years. If you win too often, you will get banned faster than a belligerent drunk gets banned from an upscale bar.

ok, this is for all the non believers out there,
It's not always the house that wins at slots,
somtimes I win a lil bit, somtimes I win alot,
no one person knows that you will win or not,
All it is, is a bet, and pure luck....It depends on exactly how much you have to play with, any given machine can go off in a drop of a hat.
But it's your decision,"DO I"? or don't??
That's my choice, On rather to slide a 20 dollar bill into my fave machine and place max bet...thats where it wins.

Sure, getting a finger poked in your rear is really funny. But sorry that I'm not amused by people that spread lies and want to dictate to me how I spend my money. He was putting out the perception, as most anti-gambling people have, that a gambler loses their money 100 percent of the time. I started playing online poker a few years ago with a 100 dollar deposit to an offshore company. I've played hundreds of games with that hundred dollars and have made several withdrawls from my poker account. Casinos don't ban people from poker tables because the money won is from other patrons. Sure, you could face a ban if you're a blackjack whiz and you win several thousand dollars from the house each night, but come on. 99.9 percent of people that get banned from a casino for cheating, not winning.

Daily Horoscope for November 30

Taurus

Today is potentially very romantic, as the Moon and Venus make love in your house of relationships. If you open up your heart, you'll be pleasantly surprised. The Bull is slow to fall in love, but tends to be very loyal and committed, which makes it important for you to choose your partners wisely. It may just be that the love of your life is already by your side.
