doesn't patrol the main highways, where do you think the majority of the drug case are made. thats all i see on I-70 is county deputies. and yes the highway patrol work most accidents, becuase they are the best equiped at doing so, and they love to take easy d.w.i.'s.Lafayette County Sheriffs have never made patrolling either Missouri Highway 13 or U.S. Highway 24 or I-70 a priority.
In fact, Gene Darnell (for whom the new justice center is named) didn't even allow his road deputies to carry citation books for many years.
Why do you suppose that MSHP works out of sheriff's offices in rural counties, anyway? It helps to avoid needless duplication of patrol duties -- and who do you suppose works accidents and writes reports on same on 13, 24, and 70?
As a practical matter, this is the bailiwick of MSHP and will remain so.

Kerrick takes all the credit for every single durg bust that occurs too, it's all political. He is not always the "guy" that does the work, he just takes the credit for it.

What's funny is you say he "takes credit for every single drust bust that occurs" and he's not always the "guy" that works it. Well let me just tell you I have been in his prescence multiple times and have witness him have to leave restaurants and the comfort of his own home to deal with this. If you're "not a fan" then vote for Morgan and see where this county goes. Kerrick Alumbaugh has done more for this county than he gets credit for. And if he wasn't doing a good job then why did he get Sheriff of the Year during his career.
Better do research before you decide to judge "Not a fan" |

60+% of the Democratic voters must see the difference he's made. I'm glad that he can continue on and keep making this county a safer place to live.

When becoming elected, that is his job to "leave restaurants" and the "comfort of his home to deal wtih this", as you put it. I'm sorry you don't agree, but I am entitled to my own opinion. I'm not an Alumbaugh fan plain and simple.
It looks like now it's between Lamphier and Alumbaugh. I did vote for Morgan though. |

in regards to mr. morgan's son, having met him a couple of times i must say i do think highly of him. that said, Alumbaugh has my vote. As for Mr. Lamphiere, whom I also know, I appreciate his willingness to challenge Kerrick, however I'm not convinced his skill set is quite there yet. Keep working on it though! One piece of advice I miht also lend, public perception might see him as a bit of a hot head.....just an observation, right or wrong these are things he could address in the impending election.

That's not very nice, what's your problem? |

it is a joint responsibility but the sheriff is probably too busy with real crime on the east end of the county as this is one thing what I was told when I had need of services. |
