My husband has a relative who died in the last few days, he didn't die in the state of Arkansas. The funeral the family picked to handle the relatives' service wouldn't let them have the service yet. They won't do anything til they have $600.00. This isn't the first time I've heard of a funeral home treating a family like this. To me, this is a service provided...I think it's very disrespectful for a funeral home to almost demand such a payment when this is a very difficult time for a family. It's hard enough to bear the burden of not having your loved one with you anymore, but to be treated like this just really "ticks me off!!!". Has anybody else experienced a similar situation??

OH My! That particular funeral home is treating the family as customers instead of grieving individuals! They could be a little more CONSIDERATE. I would be "ticked off" too!

What funeral home is this? This deserves to be looked in to.

. This was a relative that lives in Florida. Everything turned out alright. I still think that funeral homes should treat families with respect at a time when the least they should have to worry about is how much is it going to cost????

Karen,
I'm glad it worked out for your relative. I talked with a few folks in Warren who are familiar with the industry and unfortunately, sometimes you get folks who deal with this poorly.
The funeral home business is tough - on one hand you don't want to be insensitive, but on the other hand, you are still running a business. It's the true professional who can do both with grace and class.

they are running a business, you can't expect to get a service unless you pay for it.

I couldn't agree with you more. I have to say Thomas at Fraziers Funeral home here in Warren has mastered it. He helped me, and my entire family throgh a terrible loss of my son. I could not have been treated with more compassion and care. The arrangements took me awhile to get through them, it is a hard thinmg to do, he gave as long as I needed. I thank him still today for that. May God Bless him,

Daily Horoscope for December 2

Virgo

The Gemini Full Moon places the spotlight on your career and reputation; most Virgos are very discriminating and should have nothing but good coming their way during this time. However, many of you will be thrown a curve or two, so be prepared to meet the challenge. Your private life may be disturbed as the Moon shines her light on your public life... don't be afraid to tell them that your personal life is none of their business.
