It is almost impossible to get anywhere in Warner Robins because we have so few through roads to travel on. The traffic problems are becoming untenable.
I think the problem could be solved by opening up all the dead end streets, which involve most of the streets in WR. Circular neighborhoods, with only one entrance/exit contribute to the traffic problem tremendously.
If there were more open streets to travel on, it would help alleviate some of the heavy traffic on the few through streets that we do have.

Nah, the problem is the stoplights. If you drive across the entire city at something like 10pm, you can get across the entire town in maybe 8 minutes or less. It takes 3-4 times as long during peak hours.
There are no sensors in the stoplights, and there are too many of them on the main roads. Plus the speed limit is inexplicably 35 on a 4 lane road. Whoever designed the traffic system here is not fit for his job.

safety for all

our city and county gov.are ripping us off.
short yellow lights in this town are creating revenue for are government at the cost of safety for us. search yellow light duration times and you will find that the institute for highway safety or (NHTSA) recommends that at 40 mph speed limit the light should remain yellow for 4.5 sec. carl vinson and watson the light stays yellow for about 3.86 sec. if you shorten a yellow light by just 4 tenths of a second citations jumped by as much as 132%. an increase of just 0.5 to 1.5 sec. in yellow duration will decrease the frequency of red light running by 50%. they are padding their coffers.at the expense of are safety !
