A day of nostalgia at Benson's Animal Farm

Full story: Lowell Sun

Two weeks ago, just before Arthur Provencher, the last owner of Benson' Wild Animal Farm, opened the temporary exhibit of his vast Benson's memorabilia collection to the public at Hills Memorial Library, he said he could never go back to visit the park grounds.

Thank You Mr. Provencher for all the fun years at Benson's. I am now living in Arizona with my wife and 3 daughters. My wife and I grew up in Lowell, Ma. and both of us grew up looking forward to our annual trip with family or school to Benson's. My daughters never new the park but make mention of it when they listen to comedian Dane Cook. He talks about trips there too. It was a great place with many memories. It will always be remembered in my house and my families.

Went there once right before it closed. Fair accessment of this zoo
but nothing spectacular in comparison
to others of its kind.
Wish something more productive and
educational would have been built on
this property over all this time as
it is just a waist to let sit all these years.

THANK YOU FOR THE WONDERFUL TIMES WE HAD AT BENSONS ANIMAL FARM, I LIN=VE IN MAINE WHERE WE HAVE A WILDLIFE REFUGEE PARK AND ENJOY TAKING THE KIDS THERE, IT BRINGS BACK MEMORIES OF THE BENSONS FARM, WE HAD SUCH A GREAT TIME BACK THEN. TOO BAD THERE ISNT ANOTHER FARM LIKE THAT ONE. IT WAS SO EDUCATIONAL AND INTERESTING. I WISH I HAD THE FUNDS TO OPEN A FARM UP, NOT A ZOO A FARM. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE YA KNOW.. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THE GREAT TIMES WE HAD THERE. WE JUST PASSED BY THE OLD GROUNDS THE OTHER DAY AND MENTIONED IT,,, FUNNY I CAME ACROSS THIS SITE,,,,,

We moved to Wilton NH after WWII. We visited Benson's many, many times and always enjoyed it. Later in my life I would take my son there and we always had a good time. I guess life is getting used to losing a lot of things that you really liked.

Daily Horoscope for November 28

Sagittarius

You may want to do things on the spur of the moment, but pay attention to detail if you want to avoid unexpected expenses. Even a last-minute decision to go for a bike ride could end up with an injury or a flat tire, so try to think your actions out carefully. Once unpredictable Uranus settles down, you can enjoy a more relaxed attitude towards life. This evening you can let your hair down.
