Man Shot in York Business

Was it necessary for the officer to shoot the man? Did the deceased pull out a weapon, strike the officer, etc. Talking mess back in forth is just that talking mess. Did Joe Bell grab the officer at any time? The officer could have maced him, or called for back up. The man died with a piece of chicken in his mouth. Come on if he was going to fight the officer he would not have been eating his food.

that cop killed that man for no reason i happen to be a friend of the family i hope that cop spend the rest of his life in jail and never see the streets again thats why people in this world cant trust cop because of the things they do to people..........

This is another sad day! Joe Bell deserves justice! This was a senseless act, a cowardly act! David murderer Rowry should HANG! Mr. Bell was a wonderful man, I just left his daughters house and she is outraged! What do you tell her? God will see Rowry in the end but for now justice must be met. JUST-US

Three other witnesses say that Joe pushed David and by law you are not to put your hand on a officer. The third time Joe tried, Mr. Rowry had to do what he had to do to protect hisself. That's why Joe was shoot. He "ENDANGERED" an officer of the law. So to those of you who are leaving these comments about David, get your facts right first. All cops ain't bad. David Rowry is not a murderer.

By law is it right to kill a man because he pushed him! the officer protected himself from being pushed? we try to teach our children if someone hits you or "pushes" you, you can defend yourself but it is not worth it to pull a gun out and end someones life but mike what your saying is it's o.k or it's jutified by "law" if a cop does it right? I do feel for the officer's reaction to the incident and i'm sorry for him. I am, but right now i'm grieving with joes children.

That cop had no official warrant on him, it was all about politics, he was there to do another person's dirty work. He wanted to arrest him and could not even tell him the reason? Because there was really no warrant! A lot of dirty cops think they are getting away with murder! He should have called for back-up, he was the only one with a weapon, he had mace and a stun gun, but he chose the gun. He went in churches with the intent of killing him.

You are right not all cops are bad;however, he was a bad cop on September 18. To go into a restuarant to arrest someone and not even have a warrent is fact one that will attest to that. Fact 2: You(the police officer) pretend to be getting ready to order something to eat and all of a sudden draw your gun and yell you're under arrest. Fact 3: You(the police officer) refuse to tell Joe Louis why you are arresting him. Fact 4: You push Joe!!!!!! He returns the favor and you shoot him in the chest with a 9ml hollow point bullet. Now, Mike it seems to me that you are the one that does not know the facts. The only reason that the police officer is not in jail is because unlike Joe Louis when he got dressed for the day he put on a police uniform. Since he is a policeman some of you think it's okay for him to put his hands on someone. BUT guess what, it's not!!!!!!!!!! Cops in York, Alabama are as dirty as they come. We the family should not be having to deal with all of this simply because Joe Louis campaigned to elect a new mayor!!! So I suggest that if you don't know all of the facts that you refrain from making comments that make people think that you do. The police officer is a man and Joe Louis is a man. Joe Louis pushed a man back, not a uniform. He was unarmed and therefore not a threat. If Joe Louis was a threat to his manhood or if he was to "afraid of him" to arrest him without violence why didn't the police officer call for back up before attempting to make the arrest. David is a MURDERER plain and simple. He went in there with the intent to kill and JUSTICE will be served. We will not rest until we feel vendicated.

I was born in York and hated to leave, but my family was more important. This is just one more incident that confirms we made the right decision.

Things are so bad there that I may even have my parents exhumed and buried elsewhere. York has become a dump that political factions fight over. It is little more than a third world basketcase.

The city have been sucked dry by politicians and bad cops to assist them where are the feds dam the town needs you and the people in it.

Joe was my brother in law i have known him since i was elementary school he was always fair in the things he did he always treaded me with respect and love, he was a man, he accomopolished a lot and he did a lot of great things, he wasn't perfect which none of us are, facts are clear he was shot for no reason just shot down, just because people are behind a badge, in office considered powerful don't give the the right to kill, abuse, or do injusice to anyone those of you who think just because a policeman carries a gun gives them the right to kill and no jusice is done just ask yourself what would you be doing, feeling or saying if it happened to someone in your family? I personally think the actions of the police chief and the newspaper editor should be investigated. the police chief was obviously doing the editors grudge work. Also, that restaruant is owned by a black man. If it were white owned would those actions have taken place inside?

i feel that joes murder was unjust and uncalled for. We love Joe very dearly just think if this was your child how would you feel? he was in Churches minding his own business only a coward would use a gun, he pushed Joe he should have been a man. when we was coming up we use to fight hand to hand we lived we didn't pull a gun only cowards did. There was no justified reason why Joe was killed. All I know is David Rowry is a murderer point blank. He used his badge as a clutch, but I know we are going to get justice. To my Bell family I LOVE YOU ALL AND I WILL CONTINUE TO PRAY THAT WE STAY STRONG AS A FAMILY.

Mr. Rowry lied when he spoke to my brother telling him he was under arrest. This was an attempt to make a false arrest and blatant harassment. If Mr. Rowry was such a good cop why was he in the restaurant lying and harassing my brother? Mr. Rowry put himself (hisself is not a word)in harms way by fucking with JOE. This wasnt the first time the so called law bothered my brother and he was not going to sit there and let them force him to jail. Mr. Lowry is a cowardly bastard. If he was afraid of JOE why didnt he call for back up. I've never heard of the police serving a warrant I thought that was handled by the Sheriffs office or Marshalls office. WTF.
