Assault victim barely escapes oncoming train

Full story: Newsday

As though in a scene from an old silent movie, James Tramondo woke from a concussion to find himself on the tracks at the Wantagh train station as a locomotive bore down on him.

Riggio! Yeah Newsday don't tell us what color they are. I'll bet we can all figure it out though. Typical.

I'm happy to read that Tramondo is alive. The men that beat him and placed him on the train tracks should get life in prison. They are disgusting, dangerous animals that should not live in the public. They should be locked up somewhere away from normal human beings.

TO THE OFFICE OF NASSAU COUNTY DA,

The charges against the brothers do not fit the crime, they should be immediately upgraded.

Nicholas Riggio pleaded not guilty to third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, a misdemeanor? are you joking? James Tramondo was almost killed.

The Riggio's should be made an example of, this senseless violence should not be tolerated.

I'm Italian and Tramondo is presumably Italian. So why are the first posts so anti-Italian? Doesn't matter what color or ethnicity these guys were. Long Island is Bigot Country, that's for sure.

Thankfully, the poor man is OK and I hope he can past this. I also hope these other two people get a sentence they deserve.

But please - all the postings on these forums have so much hatred and prejudice - you see tons of nasty comments about Latinos, African-Americans, Jewish people, Irish, Italian, etc. Everyone: chill!

How about reckless endangerment 1st degree?

S 120.25 Reckless endangerment in the first degree.
A person is guilty of reckless endangerment in the first degree when,
under circumstances evincing a depraved indifference to human life, he
recklessly engages in conduct which creates a grave risk of death to
another person.
Reckless endangerment in the first degree is a class D felony.

The two numb nuts should be charged with attempted murder, since any reasonable person knows that if you throw an unconscious man on the tracks he will most likely get killed. It's some kind of a miracle that the victim woke up at the right time to avoid the train. Let these low lifes think about that for the next 20 years behind bars. scumbags.

Just curious if anyone else feels this guy isn't as much the "innocent" victim he is portraying.

*He boarded the 1:43 a.m. train from Penn Station on Sunday after dining with friends in Astoria, he said. On the train, he chatted with two teenagers while Anthony Riggio and his girlfriend argued nearby.

When the teenagers giggled, Riggio came over and grabbed them angrily, Tramondo said.

"You're drunk," Tramondo said he told Riggio. "Sit down'*

I'm sure Riggio wasn't the only drunk one in this altercation. And where was this other passenger this guy "giggled" with before being confronted.

I think this guy was being a wise ass on the train while Riggio was in a tense situation with his girlfriend. Doesn't excuse the violence that followed. But that little black eye this guy has could NOT have left him knocked out for too long on the tracks unless he was a drunk too. This guy may have had it coming for being a wise ass or maybe not. But I doubt Newsday is reporting all the contributing facts.

Riggio and girlfriend should not be airing their dirty laundry in public and making a spectacle of themselves. They caused their OWN problems and embarassment and Riggio and Co. decided to take it out on someone else who was unintentionally subjected to their behavior. Are they such animals they cannot control themselves from fighting until they get home?(Apparently, yes, judging from what happened to James Tramondo.)

I agree with you. Being charged with a misdemeanor is an outrage; this is felony stuff. The DA needs to review this one right away.

his quote was that he was on the ground in a ball and they continued to beat him (i wonder what his body looks like since newsday doesnt have photos of that)

THEN

they picked him up and threw him, he landed on the tracks which are down over 5 ft from the station platform

ha id like to see you drunk, tired or sober get up that quickly from the 5ft fall onto steel rails at 3am

Very manly to call your brother and a friend to help you beat up a guy who tells you you're drunk.
The Riggio brothers are losers, don't bend over in the shower boys.

"i was there, this story is completely bullshit, nobody was thrown on to any tracks. James tramundo is a loser who started a fight and cried about it after."

Hmmm. Either your name is Riggio or you are a friend. Too bad for them.

I'm sure there are plenty of witnesses who will tell the truth, not make it up to protect themselves or their friends.

Is anyone else thinking that these gentlemen who pushed Tramondo onto the tracks should be tried for attempted murder. Hmm if indeed the train did roll over him he would have died. So therefor he has had murder attempted on him.

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Scorpio

The thought of the sales is almost too good to resist today, and you'll jump at the chance to see what's on offer. Even better if you can snap up some bargains at the same time. It's certainly a good day for investing your money carefully, but make sure you aren't more seduced by the reduction in the cost of something than in the item itself. Are you certain that you want to buy it?
