When did we cross the line between creating a fair democracy where laws are made by legislature, enforced by law officials and judged by the judicial branch, to a country where police take advantage of their authority, skew and manipulate laws, pay off witnesses and tamper with evidence such that the police make, enforce and control the judgement of the laws?

Whether or not this man was guilty, will never be known. Justice was impeded by police who just can't seem to climb off their power towers and do their jobs.

And then they call up and ask for money to send their kids to college? 10% of America is OUT OF WORK. The average cop in nice suburbs makes close to six figures without detail work while teachers in those same towns can break 80 grand even if they work in the summers.

Stop kissing my f#$%^&ing babies you ass holes and start doing your jobs with integrity and transparency. And if you don't like the pay, get off your fat donut filled asses and get another job. Don't ask for my donations though. There are MUCH better causes out there.

Twenty five police officers in Lexington out earn the highest paid teacher in the school system, making over $103,000 dollars. Almost no school teacher makes six figures whereas dozens of police officers easily break that number and the figures mount higher as you add in their detail work.
Lexington Police Department is known throughout the metro area (at least among lawyers and town managers) for being one of the poorest departments among its peers, full of PR dances like bike clinics and open houses, but harboring secrets of abuse of authority, lacking completely in professional transparency and completely unable to balance good communication which enables crime prevention while maintaining the privacy and rights of individuals and containing false or misleading information. And of course this doesn't get into their little Lexington Town Day presentations, nor does it seem that the new chief is doing anything to reverse that trend but is keeping the family secrets in the family, just like his predacessor. This department is an embarrassment to Lexington and to the police profession and is stacked to the hilt with overpaid staff who stare down manholes and chase down wayward skateboarders.
And then they have the nerve to act like a charity and ask for money as if they are a charify. When on earth did six figure earning public servants become charity cases? What about the teachers who can't pay for tires on their cars, for those who are out of work and can't put food on the table?
You treat people with respect and professionalism and dont you dare act like you are starving on your inflated paychecks, backed by very generous pensions.
There are much much much better and more deserving causes out there. Sorry.

Well said! And how sad that America values its school teachers so little!

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Virgo

If the December sales are calling you, you'd better work out a budget before you leave the house. Otherwise, you'll be tempted to use your credit card first and only consider the cost of your purchase later on. Even so, you could track down some great bargains now, provided you don't get carried away and buy items that you don't really want simply because you're astonished by the amount of money you'll save in buying them. But you'll save even more money if you don't buy them!
