What is wrong with this town......how do they let our Police Chief keep running this department into the groung? When is someone going to do something about it? Does anyone care that he is a very shady person.

I have found Chief Hill to be a much better chief than the former chief. He is approachable and helpful. A few months back, he helped me with a family problem, and was most professional. I think he is the best Chief we have had since Chief Joyce.

I've been very pleased with the Police Department since 2008. The chief has been out and visible and not hiding at home or at Fulp Moravian Church. God bless him and his officers for putting up with the garbage they have had to put up with!

I am far from pleased with the chief in this town. I hope something gets done, and when it does everyone will see him for what he truly is. Make sure you post your comment on here after that; I bet your opinion changes drastically.

What is your problem with Chief Hill? That he's chief and Barry isn't? That he's a Veteran? That he's done more for Walnut Cove in four years than Barry did in 14? That he's honest? That he arrested your family member? That he's accessible? That he isn't accessible? What is it other than vague innuendo, you coward?

I know Chief Hill personally and he is great for the department and the town of Walnut Cove. I commend the comments made by "Coveresident", you are exactly right! All of these bashers have nothing better to do than point the finger and try to make look bad a MAN that has served his country with hard work and dedication and now to serve a community and lead a law enforcement department where for 14 years was nothing but chaotic and now he entered and is doing the right thing but yet getting condemned for it. What do you people want?? Chief Hill is honest, loyal, dedicated, trustworthy and deserves to be treated with the upmost respect. He definately has mine! You people should pull together and make this world and the town of Walnut Cove a better place and stop speaking of the issues and things that you know absolutely nothing about, that is if you could find it in your hearts. Bless you all!!

Chief Hill, Just sign a background waiver and allow the new Town Manager to do a background check and shut Sharon up.

I think if "Jimmy" wants to keep his job, a backgroud check would not be a smart move on his part.

I agree just wondering! A background check would turn up his past as an Army veteran who served in Desert Storm in the 82nd Airborne division. It would turn up his honorable discharge. I t would turn up his service to the Town of Stoneville. It would turn up his service to the Town of Madison. It would turn up his hiring by the crook that used to run the Walnut Cove PD. It would turn up the years of sh*t he has had to put up with with floosies like Sharon Conaway and wackjobs like the Tuttle brothers spreading rumors about him and talking about him behind his back. You're right "Just Wondering"...a background check would not be smart on his part--he'd surely realize he is over-qualified, and question his sanity for working for and with a bunch of bottom-dwelling, self-serving, lying, backwoods, moronic, crooked, mindless idiots like yourself and others in Walnut Cove who have nothing better to do than criticize someone! Get a life!

And, I'm sure that you'll have something else to say, so in anticipation of that, I'll go ahead and tell you to kiss my *ss, and again, get a life!

Stop talking and someone get the Town Manager to get the waiver signed and all will be settled. Then the town board and the town employees can focus on important issues.

WOW "Agree" you sure seem to know quite a bit on the past of the chief and his personal dilemmas and your just as bad with the criticism and needing to get a life because someone doesn't agree with you.Every one is intitled to their own thoughts about people. So if you think someone does a great job and is over qualified and per YOUR WORDS "he works with a bunch of bottom-dwelling, self-serving, lying, backwoods, moronic, crooked, mindless idiots" it's pretty safe to say that either his judgement is way off or he is like the company he hangs out with.

He could not serve in his position without that having been done. Let the man do his job. I'm sorry he's not Barry; I don't think he could be that backwards even if he tried.

I think it's pretty safe to say that Chief Hill is "one above", and not "one among". And you are right, I am entitled to my opinion, as you are yours, however, I can back up what I have to say with facts and proof. Can others? Or are they spewing the same ignorance and hatred that has set Walnut Cove apart for so many years without anything to back it up other than the echoes of their cronies?

Did anyone see the background check or the news cast were this upstanding man stole electicity? An upstanding man whom was ran out of Madison for moral reasons, Madison nor Stoneville would spit in his direction. I guess you forgot that in your list "agree".

If Sharon has legitimate concerns then it is the Town Manager's job to look into and correct these issues. Do it and get it over with.
