On Saturady I was in Walnut Cove and saw the street preaching by members of Baux Mountain Baptist Church. What a blessing that was.I have not seen street preaching since I was a child. However I was very upset at some of the actions and comments I saw and heard from some of the folks who live and work in that area.SHAME ON YOU. One day something will happen in your lives and you will need God.I hope he don't hold those rude comments and actions against you.Walnut Cove is a very sinful place and I thank God that I don't have to live there anymore.

I have supported Walnut Cove for years with buying groceries, gas and food at area restaurants along with my family. Well the merchants of Walnut Cove will no longer have my business, thanks to the mayor and councilmen electing to put a limit on God's word being preached and handed out in Walnut Cove. You want our money, but you don't want our God's message. I hope all true Christians take a stand and stop spending money in Walnut Cove.

I am a member of Baux Mountain Church for 30 years now. I also live in Walnut Cove. Our church loves the Lord and the people of Walnut Cove. I am thankful that I am at a church that cares for others. This thing that happened at Walnut Cove is no different than the problems that Christians have always had to go through. This world is not my home I am just passing through. While I am here may I show this dark world the light of Christ and be there for others.

People will always be offended, know matter what you do on this earth. Just make a stand for what you believe in. Don't let people take that away from you.

I also live in Walnut Cove! I've seen the people from the church and I've stopped to talk to them. I believe they are doing what they are called to do..........and that they have the right to do it!! Don't form opinions about all of us based on just a few idiots in control of the town! Most of us aren't like that! There are a few families in town who own the buildings..........who have the businesses..........who worship the dollar! Not all of them, but many! The people who can make legal decisons about the town are either one of these people or are controlled BY these people and their money! Personally, I welcome anything new.....especially in the name of GOD!

Well, some of you obviously don't understand how caustic and abrasive these people have been. They stepped out into the intersection at Brook Cove raod and KNOCKED ON MY CAR WINDOW. If I had my firearm with me, there would have been one less Baux Mountain parishoner! I felt threatened. I am a Christian, and I am glad to share the good news, but I think that there is an appropriate wayto do that. Knocking on people car windows and holding up signs proclaiming gloom and doom is not the answer. As a member of the public, I support the church's right to free speech, but I value my right as a citizen to walk down the street without be accosted and feeling threatened, whether by a gay rights group, the Klan, or an independent Baptist Church. Thank you, Walnut Cove for trying to keep the streets and sidewalks a place for everyone to enjoy!

Bob,
Are you 100% sure you're a christian? Have you ever heard of the 10 Commandments? How about the one THOU SHALT NOT KILL? You talked about what you would have done with your firearm.Well MY GOD gave those commandments and I try to live by them. Who is your god???? Evidently not the same as mine.
God bless you.

PJHege,

I am trained to defend myself, and when someone knocks on my window in a threatening manner like that, I'm sorry, but they better be ready for whetever the result of that action may be, Yes, I am a Christian, but witnessing to others shouldn't entail banging on someone's car window making them feel threatened and alaremed. Bottom line, these folks are threatening others, and their safety is at risk at well. The ordanence will help police know what is going on and where, and they can be on hand to keep everyone in order. Saftey and protection are important for everyone in Walnut Cove, and this will help them be able to provide that.

I am truly sorry that you feel that way and I would like to know if you can describe the person that knocdked on your car window. That is a big no no for our members and if you can give me a description I will see that the matter is taken care of.I will give the info to Pastor Mark and believe me he WILL deal with it.

Yes,everyone is intitled to their religon but not when it is PUSHED in peoples faces. As a visitor I felt threatened by them. There is a place for everything and pushing people around with their beliefs is not nice.Do it at your church.
