Connecticut is losing residents because the cities are falling apart and the suburbs only have strip malls and Wal-Marts. There is no life in this state.

I am from Meriden originally and have moved to Butler PA (because of family when I was 17-although now 32) The last time I was there was 10 years ago. It's memories of 10 years ago are perfect.Butler PA is not as self spoken and well to do as Connecticut. You should be happy to live in Ct. although it's changed it is still one of the nicest places in the United States to live. It is also one of the higher payed states and the police couldn't care less if you payed a parking meter or know your familis history. Connecticut has alot of freedom. The south is very deprived and the West is know for earth quakes, Ct is a nicer place to be.

I was born in Meriden in 1949. I am retired. I served in Vietnam and stayed in the Army for 18 years and was medically discharged.

I worked at two different chemical facilities as the corporate safety manager for the last 13 years of my working life which was just over two years ago. I have lived in Oklahoma, St. Louis, Missouri and now reside in Palm Coast Florida. If it were not for the snow I would be back in Connecticut in a heart beat! New Haven and Hartford were never places I would have wanted to live. Big cities, not the problems. Wallingford, Litchfield, Meriden, Old Saybrook, and Clinton would be my choices.

However there is that thing called taxes. Florida does not have a state employment tax. And being 100% disabled by the Veterans Administration now I do not pay property tax here either. So when I do my Reverse Mortgage next month I will only pay upkeep and homeowners insurance. I would give it all away to live back in Meriden. My lifelong friend lives in South Meriden and you cannot get him out of there even to visit! Be safe out there!

It just costs way too much to live there. Everything is expensive now. Some people are being forced to move.

I was born in Wallingford myself. However I currently live in Kansas. I was surprised to read the posts about Wallingford. They are the same complaints people here complain about. High taxes. People moving out because of the high taxes.

Daily Horoscope for May 18

Libra

Is a relationship getting dull and predictable? If so, it's time to inject some spontaneity into it, preferably by doing things on the spur of the moment and taking a few risks. Maybe you should go out for a meal for a change. There could also be a surprise in store when you realize you're attracted to someone who's totally different from your usual type.
