["The location is currently making a transition from being an AmSouth Bank to a Regions Bank, as the two companies undergo a merger. As of October 25th, all AmSouth locations will be Regions Banks."]

What in the WORLD does this have to do w/ the bank robbery story? Maybe a AmSouth employee or a Regions employee did it to get free advertising in the news??

this is like the 5-6th instance where someone handed the teller a note saying they had a gun but no evidence of the robber having a gun. It seems like there's been a rash of these robberies b/c the media keeps reporting how the crooks are pulling the heist off thus giving people the idea in their head to try it.
I guess that the bank tellers in MI are required to ask the robber to show his/her firearm before they surrender the cash to the robber...

This is the most common MO in 90%+ of all bank robberies in these United States or at least it has been for the past 40 years. The media has absolutely nothing to do with a proliferation of "copy cat" bank robberies.

Relax Buzz and Leo this is a no fight zone.
And since when is a statement of fact in the face of an imbecilic statement a "fight" subject to a referee of unknown authenticity?

You go Leo! You are absolutely correct!
If you waited until the showed you the gun, you might be dead. All bank employees are trained not to second guess a robber. A person would have to be off their rocker to do such a thing, so I would think one wouldn't want to challenge him.

Well said "Gapgirl".... I'll bet that you have worked in a bank and know what the "rules" are when a robbery is announced. You do your job inside and let the LEO's do their job outside. Everybody goes home except the bad guy.

Seems to me like they should ask for his ID, they do on every other type transaction
