Meth lab blamed for Walla Walla fire that killed 3

Full story: Bellingham Herald

A fire in which three people died and one was badly burned may have started in a methamphetamine laboratory in a motor home registered to a retired police officer, police say.

I want to know how only Shanda Allen was able to get out of that with injuries. Why didn’t she help them get out the same way through the lone door? What is so upsetting is what resident nearby didn’t do any thing! Who can a resident not do anything when there are children around? It may not be that easy but you should go to authorities and report it. I would if I had kids with me living by I would do anything to stop it

Shanda didn't get out, she died. along with 2 other women. The survivor was Shanda's father, and he is burned over 20% and is in an induced coma. These are all adults who made a very tragic decision, that ended in death. I am sure they didn't wake up that day and say "today I am going to die", they all had an addiction and a fight they weren't able to fight. The help offered to addicts isn't viable or life saving. This is a tragic event, and I hope if the story helps one, just one addict, go clean then it will be a good day. No one person is to blame in this situation, as they are all adults. They leave behind a very loving family who has fought for them. As for answers, I think they went with the girls.

As a person who personally knew each of the 4 victims and their families very well i would like to comment to Araceli's comment by saying that she needs to get the facts straight before she comments on things. because Shanda did not survive she died in that fire and nobody went the the door because the newspaper clearly states that the sole survivor Jared went through the rear window. i'm not completely sure what exactly happened that night the only people who know are not here with us today but I'm upset with Araceli's comment it was way off base. and i don't know how anyone can save someone while they are on fire themselves.

I agree with KJC I also know the family and their only mistake was having parentss like Melissa and Jared both have done nothing but raise all those kids in a place where meth was always in the home... lets not forget Elijah (excuse the spelling) the baby who died and no one knows why except she lived in MF with Melissa! god bless SHANDA I am still sick over her death.

Yes ther is someone to blame, I was in prison with jared and all he talked about was cooking meth,the guy is a piece of shit, he worshipped the devil and he was white power,you may ask how I know this? I was his cell mate for 4 months,He tried to get me to join his little fan club but those guys were weak.As for fighting a fight they couldnt win,you dont know what your talking about.I was the worst kind of addict,I was hooked for 10 years,done that crap any way I could.But Ive been clean for over 5 years now. Dont blow smoke up everyones ass and tell them that they cant fight it because they can!!!!! G.M.Garrison
