Falling crane crushes worker

A Bucksport man, whose brother said he liked "everything outdoors," was killed Thursday when part of a crane boom he was disassembling fell and crushed him, said Georgetown County Coroner Kenny Johnson.

My son and my nephew were nearly crushed last week when the cable on a crane on a ship they were loading in Georgetown, broke. A ton of cable and tackle fell on the deck but thankfully they were able to get clear. This sort of work is inherently dangerous but this ifs the lot of the hardworking men supporting thier families here in SC.
