You liberals always say "George Bush" has something to do with the price of rising oil...but you never have any kind of proof or explanation of how he dictates the price. Now that the price has fallen $11.00 a barrel below $59.00...are you going to give him credit for that? or are the liberals responsible for getting it back down.
Heard of ENRON? They dictated prices of elctricity... Why don't you think George Bush wouldn't do the same thing with the oil? Those are all his buddies ripping people off. I'm sure he's in the game too.

donald wheat, Remember there was no such thing as a drunken Indian until the priest came found us. By the way we do pay taxes just as you do, so if you think we get everything free your wrong. As far as the taxes go, I have been working since I was 14 years old and the United States Government promised us Health, Education and welfare until the sun doesn't shine and the grass don't grow. I have been paying taxes every since I was 14 so how do you figure I get anything free. By the way, I am a true Indian because I don't drink and I'm not a drunk.

I like that adam and eve story because when Columbus got lost and found us, we were still living in that garden. For the most part, the black people and chinese people were living in the garden to. So who really got kicked out of that garden it wasn't us. When they got here they killed everything and that's why I'm scared of white people because once they start killing they don't stop.

The topic is about taxes in fuel and not about what indians do or how they live people live the way the want to and I have seen alot of other cultures live like Donald Wheat has discribed and not just native americans. Every one has red blood and feeling, we are all human beings, and no one has the right to judge another human being. I haven't judged you. so please be fare. thank you.

Native peoples have suffered enough in this country. They shouldn't have to pay a state tax on fuel they buy on their own land. Where is your common sense and your compassion?
Where is your common sense??? Those taxes build roads. Are you telling me that a car with a native in it doesnt wear out the highway but a car with a white in it does wear out the highway?

Well considering that reservations are considered independent nations within the United States they should have to pay state or federal taxes. This should be applauded.

<quoted text>What makes you think that your coment only applies to native americans? Drive around any big city in the U S and you'll see the same but, without native americans. How can oeople have pride when they keep getting driven into the dirt as the indians have? How would you feel if some foreign power took over this country and stuck you in a corner someplace then, took away most of your rights?
The bigest problem we face tiday is prejudice. There is just too much of it.
reading this made me think of some thing?

What comes to mind is I am so grateful to have lived to see an African American family move into the White House. I pray that things are getting better. I really feel that we had to have the worst president ever (and his even sidekick, Cheney) in office for eight years so that white America would finally elect a person based upon character, education (Harvard educated attorney and teacher), an accomplished author, community involvement and a burning desire to actually help human beings - with a lovely wonderful family. I am not Native American but was raised on a reservation. I understand (obviously only as a white girl could) your feelings about the treatment of Native Americans.
