Airman First Class Lloyd Harding

In Oct 1956 a native son of Cavalier was lost at sea in the crash of a
Military C-118 aircraft. A/1c Lloyd Harding was station at Lincoln AFB Nebraska when he was killed.I was Lloyd's assistant Crew Chief and would have been on the plane except my wife was pregnant.A/2c Dale Brockman of
East Chicago Ill. took my place on the flight.Lloyd spoke of Cavalier
often and would jump in his old Blue Buick on the long weekends and head for Cavalier.The reason I wrote this is I thought it would be nice if the people of Cavalier would take a moment around the 10th of Oct. and remember him and the other 59 airman and Navy crewmembers that lost their lives on that day.

Dave-- I was sitting on that a/c ready to go when I was bumped at the last minute- A/1C Banks was in line right in front of me and made a comment that he didn't have a good feeling about the flight
