Back in the 80's my buddy got a ticket for going 32 in a 30 zone in Waldo. I heard they would set up a School Crossing about an hour and a half before school started so they could enforce an even lower speed limit. They could probably save more lives if they lowered the speed limit to 1mph. Viva la hick attitude! I don't want to see a picture of him cause I like to imagine he look just like Jackie Gleason in Smokey and the Bandit movie.

Wonder if Waldo's Farmer and Flea market still stands?

I live in Starke an I want to tell you rednecks or not=there is a reason why the speed limit is inforced in this area. You can do the attitude thing all you want it's not going to change how many accidents are on this road,an how many people get killed. In one month 3 people were killed just above the flea market.Do as you please,an make fun, if you don't take it serious your trip may end in Waldo and you'll be sporting a pine box on the way home!!

No one gets a ticket for 1 or 2 miles over the speed limit. Florida law mandates only "warning" tickets can be written up to 5 miles over the limit(no fine).Waldo does not even bother to write tickets until speeders are over 10 miles over the limit.(Florida law mandates lower fines between 5-10
miles over. Check Waldos records and check state law.

Waldo sits on 301 and the people deserve to be protected from those who choose to fly through their town and IGNORE speed limit. Try slowing down and smell the roses if not be prepared to pay a ticket.
It is NOT a speed trap if speed limit signs are posted especially with yellow flags as a warning.
Can you imagine a pedestrian being hit by one of the thousands of 18 wheelers using 301 daily?

Come to Haile Plantation friends have had tickets for blinking head lights and less than 3 seconds stops -- I swear true. Getting to be a police state.

Maybe I'm lucky, but I worked in Waldo for a year, and NEVER got a ticket. We all went um, very quickly down 301 until we got to Waldo. Then it was strictly following the letter of the law.I didn't mind slowing down for a few miles. I think a town has the right to decide if they want to enforce the limit. It isn't as if there is no warning before one arrives.

You've got a taste for adventure today, so you might decide to depart from tradition in some way and make it an unusual Christmas.
