This should be taken seriously. Jeffrey Dalmer and other serial killers started out by killing animals and then progressed to humans. There was a high school kid recently caught in Florida killing cats for the fun of it. If anyone suspects someone or has heard anything please contact the Police Chief

Why do people really have a problem with cats? What are they doing wrong that they are causing a problem? I tried to save a stray kitten I seen wandering near the highway and a cop pulled me over and told me not to worry there are so many strays around and it's not important. That's bullshit.

I'm going to start by staying, yes, it is wrong to kill animals...(but that's not the point of the post)

But isn't it also wrong to allow your pet (whatever it may be dog, cat, pig, etc) to roam the neighborhood unchecked & become a nuisance to those surrounding you? Why is that never brought up in stories like this?

Yes, free roaming animals cause damage to other people's property. Speaking from years of personal experience combating our neighbors with free roaming cats..the damage they can cause is extensive. We have lost use of our garden because of the cats using it as a toilet (even though it is fenced in), we cannot open our windows in the summer because the cats use the flower beds around the house as toilets. They knock down our expensive potters off our deck, stairs, tables, etc. They get trapped under decks, cars, in garages & it often goes unnoticed because the cat owners are oblivious to what their pets are doing. They are flea/tick/worm infested and pose a risk to not only my two dogs, but the people's property & pets. So yes, free roaming animals cause an issue for all those involved.

For the person who said to move if you don't like the cats, that's just ridiculous. If you pay $65k (or whatever it is) for a house, you should have the right to enjoy your property free of animals or free of someone else's animals. You shouldn't have to move because your neighbor is rude and allows their animals all over your property.

The people allowing animals to free roam are breaking city ordinance. Most cities have leash laws for just this reason. If I allowed my dogs to just roam the neighborhood, you better believe someone would be moaning and groaning and I'd be slapped with a fine. Or better yet, what if I let my house roam the neighborhood pooping all over everyone's front law, steps or driveway...something tells me people wouldn't be happy about that....So what's the difference with a cat???

If you have cats, dogs, pigs etc that is fine...just keep them on your property. Not everyone wants to be exposed to your pet. Besides, allowing your pet to free roam is dangerous (as proven in this story & others) but they can easily get hit by cars, trucks, trains, buses, get attacked by a dog for crossing the wrong back yard, get killed in a cat fight with another cat, get caught in someone's garage and die of starvation because the owner wasn't there to help it......

If you love your pet, keep them safe by keeping them under supervision in your own yard.

I'm sure you are a responsible pet owner and probably do not let your 9 cats roam the neighborhood being nuisances to your other neighbors, right? If you do not contain your cats, then you are neglectful, and any harm that would fall upon your cats would be totally your fault because you did not keep them safe and restrained to your house or your property.

As far as "buckshot in their face" if anyone hurt your cats-that could 'backfire' on you, no pun intended.

Catman- then you are a responsible cat/pet owner that cares about his animals. If everybody took care of their pets the way you do, there wouldn't be these extreme attempts to eliminate the problem of these pet and feral cats roaming the neighborhoods. I am not condoning the poisoning, that is a very cruel and painful way for an animal to die. But these are examples pet owners face when they do not care for their animals properly.

I would thank this guy who is killing the cats, treat him to a nice dinner then escort him into a Tiger cage then laugh my ass off when the Cat tears him alive.
