Jeff Kuwada PROVES Democrat corruption is alive and well in Hawaii and on Maui too.

Way to go, Kuwada.

Sol Kaho'ohalahala is a former OHA Trustee that went along with other "trustees" to fleece the REAL native Hawaiians and cheat them out of their 5(f) revenue OHA funnels to friends, cronies and others catering to the restore the foreign import concept of the corrupt "Monarchy."

Let's see. State of Hawaii Supreme Court rules that Kahoohalahala is NOT a Lanai resident.

Then along comes this Democratic hack Kuwada and says "I can't read, but it looks like the evidence says Kahoohalahala IS a Lanai resident, even if the Supreme Court already looked at the record and decided hack ho'ohalahala is NOT a Lanai resident."

Somebody kick Kuwada out of his office, PLEASE.

I am sick and tired of reading about politicians with no moral fiber or character and Sol Kaho'ohalahala is another disgusting politician representing the Democratic party that tried to put a spin on his residency requirements so he could be elected to the Maui City Council. Sickening, Disgusting, a politician that lacks any character and virtue and these are suppose to be role models for our students . WHY ARE THE VOTERS CONTINUALLY ELECTING THESE INDIVIDUALS WITH NO MORAL BACKBONE. For that matter, Mr. Kuwada should be removed from office because it doesn't take much common sense to sense a conspiracy between him and Kaho'ohahahala. Disgusting, just plain disgusting we have individuals like these in leadership positions or twisting the laws to suit their own common purpose. FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, WAKE UP CITIZENS AND VOTE AGAINST THESE IDIOTS!!!!!

It's easy to make baseless accusations and slanderous statements online when you have the advantage of hiding behind your screen names. The Internet has elevated the speed and availability of information, but it has also lowered our standards of civility. I wonder how many of you would post if you had to use your real name.
I'm tired of hearing about "corruption" and "conspiracy" every time someone does something that someone else disagrees with. You scream it, but you never show the proof.
I have known Sol for many years and have found him to be a hard-working and honorable person. And Mr. Kuwada's ruling followed the letter of the law.
Get over it.

"Hawaii Supreme Court decision on Oct. 20 that Kaho'ohalahala was not a resident of the district he represents when he ran for the County Council."....

"Kaho'ohalahala said the county Charter says that once elected, the council member shall forfeit office if the member is no longer a resident of the area he was elected to represent."

If he wasn't a resident when he won therefore...
"shall forfeit office if the member is no longer a resident of the area he was elected to represent"
He didn't magically become a resident the day after his election so he needs to follow the law and forfeit the job.

The law is the same for all...some people just believe they are above it, especially when in the government

The county clerk serves at the pleasure of the county council. Can you say conflict of interest?

Saying there is a "conflict of interest" doesn't make it so. Here are the duties of the County Clerk, as stated in the Maui County Charter:
Section 5-3. Powers, Duties and Functions. The county clerk shall:
1. Be the clerk of the council.
2. Take charge of, safely keep and dispose of all books, papers and records which may properly be filed in the clerk's office and keep in separate files all bills, ordinances, resolutions and rules and cumulative indices of the same.
3. Have custody of the county seal.
4. Conduct all elections held within the county as provided by law.
5. Certify ordinances.
6. Adopt rules for the classification, storage and destruction of all records of the county.
7. Perform such other functions as may be prescribed by the council or law.
Where is the "conflict"?

All of two years and eleven months that I spent in the Army pulling duty at Ft Ord, Ft Dix, Ft Benning, and Vietnam I was considered a resident of Hawaii and had to pay Hawaii income taxes. It's a nebulous area. Sol spent days on Lanai and months and months on Maui but is still considered a resident of Lanai??? It's a nebulous area !!

Maui County is one county government where council members of Lanai and Molokai have to physically go to Maui to attend County Council meetings. Why couldn't they just live on Maui yet represent their respective islands? Am I missing something?????

You are incorrect. I don't use screen names and I have no reason to "kiss up" to anyone.
