Spirit of Rosanky Jubilee

If you don't have plans for the 4th of July, consider coming to Rosanky, TX (17 miles south of Bastrop). On Friday July 4, 2008, the 8th annual Spirit of Rosanky Jubilee is the place for the entire family for Food, Fun and Fireworks.

Activites & Events: LIVE MUSIC by the Midnight Owls, Special Guest is Bruce Dickson (former American Idol contestant), Moonwalk, Kiddy train, Pony rides, Food, Drinks, Horseshoe tournament, and more.

Right before dark falls, the Honor Guard will perform the 21 gun salute, followe by Bruce Dickson singing the National Anthem. Then at Dark:30, a lone blast will burst in the night sky as patriotic music starts to play and what follows can only be described as THE BEST FIREWORKS SHOW IN CENTRAL TEXAS!

The 2008 Rosanky festival turned out to be kind of a flop. The fireworks were great, a little too long as usual, but still a great show. Bruce Dickson didn't sing, there was no kiddy train, no pony rides, only 2 teams showed up for the horseshoe tournament and there was no mechanical bull like the ad said. The honor guard shot their guns really really early before most people got there so that was kind of pointless. Later we found out the pony ride company was a no call-no show, the owner of the mechanical bull was rushed to the ER the night before and Bruce Dickson wasn't allowed to use the band's equipment. The festival president and one of the band members got into an argument about Bruce using their microphone (which was pre-arranged by the band's lead signer) this is why Bruce didn't sing, and then that band member's wife started running her mouth and the festival president ended up knocking her on her ass! I say, go for the fireworks show at dark, don't bother coming sooner and let the Rosanky people be immature all on their own!
