Does this cat have diabetes - anyone check for that? He seems to have gained weight fast...even 22 lbs. is a lot in that short period of time.

This is so typical of these animal shelters. They cry how no one wants to adopt adult animals, but when someone tried they make it almost impossible to do so. I had to jump through hoops to adopt an adult dog from the ASPCA, and their attitude was like I had to prove that I was not some sort of criminal before they would release the dog, who they had taken very poor care of, by the way. My vet was appalled. For my next dog I'm going to a pet store because I'm not going to be treated like that from some low level bureaucrat. How dare they exploit this animal like this, and threaten to take him away from the family that has been caring for them. They should be ashamed.
